One moment Samantha is admiring a tattooed man at the gym and the next she’s aboard a private yacht with no idea how she got there. Faced with two mysterious men — one she trusts and one she fears — she experiences mind-blowing sex with a vampire while avoiding death. A night of heaven and hell…
Lured onto his estranged creator’s yacht, Geoffrey meets a woman he can’t resist, but is Samantha part of a scheme to tempt him into indulging in his long-repressed bloodlust?
The following excerpt from ROUGH WATERS is for readers 18 and over.
She sensed rather than heard Geoffrey squat in front of her.
Her head snapped up and she met Geoffrey’s sympathetic gaze.
“I believe everything you said about not knowing how you got here.”
She glared at him. “Well thank you very much. To be honest, Geoffrey, I don’t give a damn what you think. I’m lost at sea with. . . I don’t know who or what you are. Any of you. I mean, vampires? Honestly? I’m supposed to believe that? I’m supposed to believe no one aboard this ship knows how I got here?”
“I said I believe you, but I don’t believe John. No matter what he says, he probably had something to do with this. He doesn’t let go of anyone or anything he thinks are his.”
Their gazes locked. “And he thinks you belong to him. Why? You say he‘s like your family, yet you seem to hate each other.”
“It’s complicated.”
“You keep saying that. Are you afraid of him? Is that why you put up with his attitude?”
Annoyance flashed across Geoffrey’s face. “I’m not afraid of him, but I owe him a certain amount of respect.”
“He doesn’t seem to have any for you, or anyone else for that matter. Shit, he’s a monster. Literally. If I didn’t see the eyes and the fangs. . .I. . . wait a second. Vampires aren’t real!”
“Neither is magic, but he’s already used his powers on you, probably more than once since you don’t remember how you got here.”
“What do you mean?”
“When you fell asleep earlier, he had you under his control. That’s why I’m surprised you heard our conversation at all. You must have some powers of your own to fight his. If he knew you’d resisted him, he’d want you for himself. Then we’d have a real problem.”
“Why?”
“Because I want you for myself.” Geoffrey’s eyes intensified until they shone like blue fire. He reached out, but stopped just shy of touching her cheek.
Samantha’s heart nearly leapt through her chest. Every time he touched her a jolt of raw sexual energy tore through her. In spite of herself she wanted him. Desperately.
Why not? If I really have gone crazy, I might as well enjoy what I can in this demonic fantasy.
“I feel the same way about you,” she admitted, leaning her cheek into his hand. Her eyes closed and she drew a deep breath as warmth and desire flooded her. His breath tickled her lips and she opened her eyes. He was so close that all she had to do was. . .
