I’m great at keeping other people’s secrets (as long as they tell me it is a secret). Usually when a friend tells me something is a secret, I’ll do my best to completely forget she ever told me about it. I have a terrible memory so forgetting is easy.

When it comes to keeping my own secrets, I fail miserably. The easiest way to keep a secret is to not let anyone know you have a secret. I usually tell everyone. When I found out about my 12 novella deal with Avon Impulse, I told all of my writing buddies “I have BIG news but I can’t tell you.”

Which meant, of course, they all asked me to ‘only’ tell them. Close buddies, buddies who know darn well I’ll break under the pressure, asked me numerous times a day. I gave more and more hints until I’m almost certain some of my buddies knew exactly what I was going to announce (though they acted surprised).

As I don’t like surprises, I also don’t keep surprise secrets very well. Friends know if they ask me what I’m getting them for their birthdays, I’ll tell them. I figure they wouldn’t ask if they didn’t want to know.

Kat, my heroine in Flashes Of Me, is much better at keeping secrets. She moves across the country, starts a new job, surrounds herself with strangers to keep her secret. Because her coworkers don’t know her, she can invent her own reality, acting as though her secret didn’t occur.

Complications arise when she meets the hero. Can Kat have an honest relationship with Henley while she is keeping such a big secret? What happens when the truth is revealed?
