Today I’m very pleased to feature Beautiful Trouble Publishing. Enjoy the interview below with Jeanie Johnson and Jayha Leigh of Beautiful Trouble and also find a list of recommended reads that I’ve enjoyed from the authors of BT. If you’re looking for independent heroines, sexy heroes and steamy romance, try Beautiful Trouble if you haven’t already.
Interview: Beautiful Trouble Publishing:
What is the main thing you look for in a story?
A strong female character: strong in mind or body or both.
An Alpha male character who loves, respects and honors the female.
An actual story involving these characters.
I love the independent, no-nonsense heroines I’ve been reading from Beautiful Trouble. What do you think is the most important characteristic for romance heroines?
The ability to raise her gloved fist despite the sh*t the world has thrown at her…also never allowing a man to change what makes her whom she is inwardly or outwardly.
What does a hero need to have to become a Beautiful Trouble hero?
As for the men that love them? Alpha males that know their way around a kitchen, armory, nursery and his woman’s intellect. If he can kick a** then bake a cheesecake that helps. We don’t ask much do we? LOL. Seriously, he needs to as our tagline on our JandJ website says: It’s not enough that the hero want the heroine, he must love, need and breathe the heroine.
What three words do you think best describe Beautiful Trouble stories?
Adventurous. Sexy-HOTTTT. Healthy.
What would you like readers to know about BT books or BT in general?
We’re not about weak females or ‘needs to have their a*s whipped’ guys. You will also not find unhealthy relationships featuring sex that is used as a tool. If that’s what someone wants to read one is NOT going to find that at Beautiful Trouble Publishing. You will find smart, sexy, smart a**, kick a**, take-no-prisoners, in-your-face, defend-those-she-loves females and men who are their equals all over the show. You will read about sex that is as beautiful as it is hot.

Your personal books:
What are your favorite genres to read and write?
Paranormal, I/R, Contemporary
To you what type of hero/heroine is the hottest?
Hero = ALPHA. Heroine = smart, sense of humor, a** kicker.
Share one of the sexiest or romantic lines from one of your books. “I love you”…it’s sexy b/c whenever the characters say it…they mean it with every thing within them.
Speaking as one of your characters, describe in a sentence or two what makes your partner irresistible.
Speaking as every one of our heroes: what makes her irresistible is the fact that she’s everything I was made for.
Please tell us about your latest release?
It will have some WTF, some OMG, some NFW, and some hot, steamy, lovemaking between individuals who love, respect and care for each other.
Thank you, Jeanie and Jayha!
Books I’ve read and enjoyed from Beautiful Trouble:
Oh How the Mighty are Ballin’ by Jeanie Johnson and Jayha Leigh
Bella-Sophia is a smart, sexy heroine and Wulf is more than just a gorgeous face and body.
~Kate
Bella-Sophia “Blitz” Forrester is your average African-American woman … if you having two undergraduate degrees, an M.A. in Exercise and Sports Science and a J.D. from the prestigious University of North Carolina average. You’d think that with a resume that impressive, Blitz would be rocking evening gowns by New York fashion designer Stephen Burrows and jewelry by Tiffany and working for a prestigious law firm in her native Atlanta … and you’d be dead wrong. Blitz’s standard outfit consisted of cargo jeans and cleats, and the only bling she wore was a standard coach’s whistle. That’s because instead of arguing cases for wealthy clients, Blitz Forrester worked as a defensive coordinator for a Division I college men’s football team. The only female to hold such a position in the male-dominated bastion of big time college football, Blitz was all business … all the time.
Wulf Altenöder is your average man of privilege. That is, he enjoys his jet-set lifestyle and the women who come with it. A soccer guru from Liechtenstein, he is asked to coach the men’s soccer team at the same university where Blitz coaches the men’s football team.
Sparks fly when Blitz, on vacation in Europe, is asked to stop by and deliver updated regulations to Wulf. It wasn’t the delivery that was the problem, but Wulf’s arrogance. Blitz’s plans to stay away from Wulf are blown all to hell when she’s elected to show him around the city.
Seething at having to play babysitter to a man who considers the pussy-ass sport of soccer to be not just the ‘real’ football but the only football, Blitz shows him her native Atlanta … and unbeknownst to her shows him the woman beneath the coach. Wulf, of course falls madly in love with that woman. But what’s a man to do when he’s done nothing but piss off the woman he loves. Why, woo her with chocolate of course, and then with his words, and finally with his body.
Ropin’ Eli by Shara Azod
I liked how Gilly made Eli admit how he truly felt about her. She knew exactly what she wanted and whether he knew it or not, he’d loved her for a very long time. A very romantic story.
~Kate
Gilly is sick and tired of Eli Travis treating her like a damn boy. She’s going to force him to recognize she’s a fully grown woman, one way or another. Donning her skimpiest dress and highest heels, Gilly flounces her bountiful curves right in front of his face, then proceeds to ignore him. Let the hard-headed cowboy take that!
Next Door Flavor by Jeanie Johnson and Jayha Leigh
Who wouldn’t want a neighbor like Sebastian? This man can cook in every room in the house. The heroine was likeable and had a great sense of humor and the secondary characters were very likeable too.
~Kate
Sebastian Ryan was a man of simple tastes –except when it came to food–and his kitchen was a testament to that. If there was a show called Pimp My Kitchen, his would’ve been the kitchen that all other kitchens aspired to be when they grew up. With a kitchen like that, why in the world was he always trekking to his next-door-neighbor’s place to borrow everything from a cup of sugar to vine tomatoes to beetroot? For that matter why did he have a next-door neighbor up on his mountain…oh yeah, because Zuri had talked him into it. He hadn’t wanted a neighbor and then he laid eyes on Lightning Garaile–West Point graduate, softball fanatic, reigning champion of calling him a bastard…and the most unpredictable, lush woman he’d ever seen. He’d made Lightning his mission and like every other goal he’d had, he would achieve it. And he would, just as soon as he threw Yukon Mann and his brother Sendoa—the co-title holders of Alaska Territory’s coveted A**hole of the Year award off of his mountain. They could go down the mountain all peaceful like and under their own power or they could go careening down the mountain Wild E Coyote style…but they would be going because it was past time to put a Ryan on the end of Lightning’s name and he couldn’t do that with those two a**holes underfoot.
Double En-Blonder by Jeanie Johnson and Jayha Leigh
If you love big, blond and sexy with a touch of the paranormal, this story has it all.
~Kate
Epoch Udane loved her new job as the lead geologist for Brynjar Enterprises. Fintland , Norway was beautiful country, and her boss Dagr was a kickazz man who’d made her adjustment easy and the job exciting. Too bad he was best friends with the one man who made her sick to her stomach. Jarl Vidar was an asshole—a conceited asshole whose favorite subject was Jarl Vidar. Knee deep in women who allowed him to think the world revolved around him, Epoch ignored him, avoided him, and straight out pretended he didn’t exist…and yet he got to her. Six and a half feet of ripped Viking would do that to a woman.
Jarl Vidar hated three things: Americans, southerners, and opinionated women. Not only was Dr. Epoch Udane all three of those things, she was unapologetic about it. Too bad his best friend liked her. Despite his many hints and his offer to buy out her contract, Dagr refused to send her back to America. Stuck with her for the time being, he did his best to intimidate her, but all he got for his efforts was ignored. That pissed him off. How dare she ignore him…especially when she got to him so hard?
Tired of their pussyfooting around each other, Dagr sets the wheels in motion that lead to a cataclysmic encounter between his best friend and his favorite geologist. While Norway might be big enough for one Udane, it’s not big enough for the whole Udane clan. But one thing’s for certain: Jarl Vidar is more than enough man for Epoch, and Epoch is more than enough woman for Jarl.
Foreplay by Marteeka Karland
Lilly, Connor and Caleb really know how to relax after a long work week. I love menage and these characters definitely have lots of chemistry.
~Kate
Lilly has her hands full. Identical twin brothers who are identically sexy and identically make Lilly cream her panties every time they’re near, Caleb and Connor just love fucking with her. After more than a decade working together in close quarters, the men have decided now is the time for them to make Lilly theirs.
But Lilly isn’t a woman to simply give in to their demands. She’s possibly the one woman they’ve ever known who can handle them—but that’s just one more reason she’s perfect for them.
Two of my all-time favorites:
Bow Down to the Know
This was one of the first BT books I read and it got me hooked.
~Kate
Having a pork addiction, a shoe fetish and a penchant for setting it off, Eve Ahn fit right in at You Can Kiss Our Whole Sass Sports Promotions. Her position as MMFEIC (Main Mother F*cking Executive In Charge) came with a branding iron, a stilettos allowance, and extended lunches. During a pork run her stiletto boots and her oomph caught the attention of 6’4”of dark chocolate.
Though he appreciated beautiful women, attorney Anax Valere wasn’t a man who was easily swayed by a beautiful woman or a fast car. But then he saw her: wearing bells across her ass, Level Seven stilettos on her feet, she rocked badass like nobody’s business. And then there was her ride: a 1969 black Camaro featuring a black paint job and a purple and black interior. Though he wasn’t surprised that a woman like that drove a car like that, he wanted to be her favorite ride.
Come Spell or High Water
This is the sequel to Bow Down to the Know and just as sexy as the first book. I really enjoyed Spell’s story and I’m looking forward to reading about Rage.
~Kate
Spell Slayer might be a certified weirdo, but she was also a whole lot of other things including: a whole lot of fine in 5’8” and 165 lbs of dark chocolate beauty. She was also a whole lot of smart and a whole lot of unpredictable…just like all of the Slayers. Daughter of Zeus and Sheriff Dream Slayer, sister of Lure Slayer (3 time bass-fishing champion), Sensei Slayer (pro football player), Calm Slayer (badazz karate master and trainer of Special Forces units), and Rage Slayer (the co-owner of You Can Kiss Our Whole Sass Sports Promotions). One of the top sports agency firms in the nation, You Can Kiss Our Whole Sass had four rules:
1) No hockey players.
2) No soccer players.
3) No motherfuckers.
4) If while we’re representing you, you turn into a MF, you have to get the fuck out.
Rave Loïc is a hockey player. He’s also 6’5 230 lbs of ripped, hot chocolate man with a shelf full of hockey awards proclaiming him the best offensive player in hockey. He’s also co-owner of the title for best ass in all of professional sports. The guy he shares the title with is Deuce Loïc—the best all around defensive player in hockey…and his brother. Both Loïc males want to be sole owners of the best ass title. But as bad as Rave wants the title, he doesn’t want it nearly as bad as he wants Spell Slayer.
