Grandhawk, one of the few facilities owned and operated by the gladiators themselves, is a beautiful place with forests, green grass and the sacred river running through its largest field. This is my first time meeting Rock, as he prefers to be called, in the flesh, and I must say he's just as handsome as in his holographic images. Tall and rather slim for a War Hammer, he still has muscles sleek enough to make this reporter lose her breath. Unlike many gladiators I've met, Rock has a boyishly handsome face and his wide-set blue eyes are serene. He has a reputation for his gentleness outside the ring, and by his careful handshake and soft yet husky voice, I know that reputation is well founded. Yet don't let his sweet dispostion fool you. He's a gladiator through to his soul and totally confident in his ability. How did your training go for this last fight? It went great. Iron and I always train hard. We're prepared for anything. Master Winghill mentored you for years. How do you get along with him now? I can't tell you how much Winghill has meant to me. He's been more than a trainer. He's been like a father. Iron and I are still close to him and always will be. And when it comes to training, we could have no better advisor. How do you think the gladiatorial games have changed since you started twenty years ago? I think because of men like Winghill and training facilities like Grandhawk there are more opportunities for young men to grow as people, not just warriors. I hope in the future they'll have even more opportunities. How do you feel about being selected Most Desireable Male in Alpha Delicious Magazine? (Grins) It's always an honor to know the ladies admire you. Gladiators work hard at staying fit and it's nice to be noticed, so thanks to the ladies who voted for me. What's your most alpha trait? The determiation to get what I want and stand by my word. Three Questions for Ironflanks, Team Raw's "Poison Arrow" by Jane De-Sire This morning I caught up with Ironflanks of Team Raw. He was headed for Hell's Mountain Trail, arguably the harshest trail on Alpha Island South. Tall and lean with a fierce look in his slanted blue eyes, Ironflanks is everything you imagine a gladiator to be. He didn't have much time since he was in the middle of training, but he took a few moments to reply to my three question challenge. What specificly have you trained to improve for your upcoming fight? I train hard all around. So does Rock. Whether it's a standing fight or whether the fight goes to the ground, we're ready. I work hard on my sprinting and climbing so when the buzzer rings I'm prepared to hit as many targets as possible. Have you fully recovered from the injuries to your ribs and kidneys? I'm back in top form and ready to kick ass. Who's going to win your next fight? I am. What can you tell us about your Earth girlfriend? I don't kiss and tell. Well that glare in his piercing blue eyes told me the interview was over and it was time for him to return to training. Looking forward to your next match, Iron! Redblade, the Amazurnian Tank, Says He'll Kick Rockbottom's Ass by Passionis Redblade of Team Bloodbond is the poster boy for Alpha Male. Towering, thickly muscled and with more attitude than any man has a right to have, he has the potential to become a legend in the arena. He and his team mate, Slide, are heading into one of the biggest fights of their career. They're going against Rock and Iron of Team Raw who are already living legends. This doesn't intimidate the man known as the Amazurnian Tank. In last night's press conference, he had a few choice words for his oppoentent, War Hammer Rockbottom. When I interviewed him this morning in his hotel room at the capital of Alpha Island South, he was still full of confidence about the fight. How have you changed your training to prepare for your match against Team Raw? Not that I think I needed to make many changes, but I worked a lot on my grappling. Rockbottom likes to take it to the ground, but if he lands there with me, it will be his mistake. Maybe even his funeral. You intend to go for the kill? Everyone who's followed my career knows I never shy away from the kill. I'm going to kick Rockbottoms' ass, then I'm going for his brother. Do you think you might be underestimating Rock? After all, his fight record speaks for itself. He must be the luckiest bastard on Amazurn. The man is one of the lightest War Hammers on record. There's no way a guy that size, no matter how skilled, will go toe-to-toe with me. Even though he is half-Shand? That's the key. Half-Shand. He's no full-blooded Shand warrior. Where do you see yourself in five years? Still kicking ass, but off planet. I'm going to buy my freedom, baby.
