Interview with Carol Lynne

What is your favorite type of kink to read and write?

My favorite is multiple male books. I love to both read and write them. I have two all male ménages coming soon.

What genres do you write?

Contemporary straight M/F, M/M, Menage, and my favorite M/M/M.

Would you tell us about your latest and upcoming releases?

My first release for Ellora’s Cave Branded by Gold is a contemporary ménage with M/M. Its part one of a series called Men in Love. The series has six contracted books so far. The two all male ménage books are part of this series. In July I have a very special book coming out. Finnegan’s Promise is a M/M novel that I wrote to help me deal with my fathers death. It’s probably my favorite for just that reason.

What is your favorite scent?

Citrus: lemon, grapefruit, and orange.

Do any of your characters have tattoos, piercings or scars?

Most of my characters have one or all of the above. Even the seemingly innocent ones have something hidden under their clothes.

Do you have a website, blog, or email where readers can reach you?

Caesar's Love
(Phaze 2007)

Laurentius Caesar has everything a man could want: power, prestige, and the admiration of all. He lacks only love, and his hopes for such are amended on meeting one of his house slaves, Auriel. Having known only the life of a servant, Auriel is surprised with her new role as Caesar's lover. Is Laurentius' love strong enough to erase their differences?

Interview with Penny Ash

What is your favorite type of kink to read and write?

I prefer to write the milder stuff, things like a character’s fascination with hair or maybe corsets, light bondage. Mostly vanilla with a pinch of cinnamon

What genres do you write?

I write unusual historicals, fantasy, some contemporary, humor, and science fiction. Or any combination of those including time travel and paranormal.

Would you tell us about your latest and upcoming releases?

Caesar’s Love is a historical set in ancient Rome and is out now with Phaze. I have a contemporary coming out, also with Phaze, and several works under consideration.

What is your favorite scent?

I have two, Pirate’s Midnight Rum and Musk

Do any of your characters have tattoos, piercings or scars?

Several do, in various combinations.

Do you have a website, blog, or email where readers can reach you?

Mercy Kill
(Mojocastle Press 2007)
Purchase Link

Mercykill is on their way to fame as the newest visual kei (metal) band to hit the big time in Japan. But from the heights of fame to the depths of crushing sorrow takes but an instant. Can the band recover from senseless tragedy and salvage their lives from the ashes of despair?

This is a jrock suspense novel with paranormal twists and explicit m/m and m/m/m sexual content.

Interview with Michael Barnette

What is your favorite type of kink to read and write?

To write, I love M/m or F/m D/s, BDSM and full contact menage. To read--on those rare occasions I have the time--I prefer anime based yaoi/slash fanfics.

What genres do you write?

Everything but straight up real world contemporary or comedy. Scifi, fantasy, historical, horror, paranormal, vamps, suspense, mystery, weres, westerns, m/m, yaoi, BDSM, D/s, menage I write them all, though I tend to bend and blend the genres.

Would you tell us about your latest and upcoming releases?

My latest releases are Ragnarok Tango at Phaze and Through Neon Eyes: Promise-Part 2 at Mojocastle Press.

Ragnarok Tango is part of my Immortal Heroes series and features Snow a man cursed to immortality for killing a demon prince, Jaella the leader of the Maidens of the Moon and her kinsman, Rayne. Jaella and Rayne are the blood descendents of the same demon prince that Snow killed.

Through Neon Eyes features my most popular character, another of my Immortal Heroes, Bells. It's a cyberpunk m/m erotic series the first story of which, Zoner was nominated for a Gaylactic Spectrum Award in 2003 and was part of a Lambda Literary Award finalist anthology, Wired Hard 3: More Erotica for a Gay Universe.

Upcoming releases include more installments of the Through Neon Eyes series, Legend of the Autumn Wind: Wind of Change, GameNet: Into the Jaws of the Dragon and Mercykill: Killers all from Mojocastle.

What is your favorite scent?

Vanilla, I kid you not. I have very fond, and rather erotic memories involving that scent. LOL

Do any of your characters have tattoos, piercings or scars?

At this time no, but I have plans for future heroes--and heroines--to have tattoos, piercings or possibly scars.

Do you have a website, blog, or email where readers can reach you?

Readers can contact me via my email address which is: m_barnette_author@yahoo.com

The kinkpromo author for May is Willa Okati.

Available now by Willa Okati:

TB12: Believe It Or Not
(Loose ID)
Purchase Link

To believe it or not? A skeptic and a sorcerer are set at odds against each other, with much more on the table than fact versus fiction. Love, as a matter of fact.

Harrison prides himself on only believing in what he can prove -- with solid, scientific fact. He's spent much of his career as an academic professor debunking urban myths, legends and mythology, so he's used to people writing angry letters to him. When he receives a letter from someone claiming to be a mage and offering to prove it to him, he's surprised, amused, but also intrigued. He's game, he decides, but there's a catch: Harrison will have to pay a visit to Amour Magique and make his way past otherworldly guards to meet Martin in his lair.

Harrison's only after the subject of another publishable article. But Martin surprises him. Not only is he handsome as the very devil, he also seems to take a reciprocal interest in Harrison.

It's a shame that Harrison thinks Martin is a fraud, and Martin thinks that Harrison is a blot on the paranormal community -- especially when you consider that they can barely keep their hands off each other. And the sex is positively incendiary.

The question isn't magic but love, and the choice is set before them: believe it or not?

Interview with Willa Okati

font size="+1">What is your favorite type of kink to read and write?

No contest -- I love to write about body modifications (tattoos, piercings, and occasionally something more extreme).

What genres do you write?

With one or two exceptions, I write gay erotica/gay erotic romance/gay romance. I do mostly write fantasy/paranormal, but I have several contemporary books available. Within fantasy/paranormal, I have a big weakness for vampires but I'm trying to work up some shifter ideas. One of my favorite things is world-building. I'd also love to write a ghost story. So far as contemporary goes, I think I'd love to try writing some cowboys. I'd also like to try writing a historical one day.

Would you tell us about your latest and upcoming releases?

Absolutely! My latest release is "The Brotherhood 12: Believe It Or Not" from Loose Id LLC. This is the next-to-last installment in a series of 13 novellas focusing on the adventures of a gay men's support group when they each find themselves thrust into the world of the supernatural. They can be read as stand-alone stories, although there is a plot arc with a secondary character (Liam -- who will have his own story as #13). The release prior to that was "Georgina's Dragon", also from Loose Id LLC, an M/M/F novel about the last descendant of the Georges of legend, who is running away from her destiny to protect the ones she loves from getting hurt… and runs right into the biggest, baddest dragon there ever was. To save the day, the city and herself, she turns to the lovers Dakarai and Randall, experts at the supernatural -- and while they're working to stop the dragon, they fall in love… I also have another M/M/F from Changeling, "Elven Encounter" (a sequel to "Elven Enchantment", soon to be followed with the upcoming "Elven Escapades"). That's a lot of M/M/F, but I do have several M/M (or M/M/more) releases planned for the future.

What is your favorite scent?

Roses. I'm such a sap! ;-)

Do any of your characters have tattoos, piercings or scars?

Many do, yes. The "Stranger" series from Torquere Press features a tattoo artist and his lover, and they are covered head to toe in tattoos and piercings. I've written characters with scars before, but the scars haven't been the primary focus of the story.

Do you have a website, blog, or email where readers can reach you?

I do!

Davian arrives at a BDSM party, unsure of what to expect. She loves her fiancé, but the ongoing lack of sizzle in the bedroom raises some serious questions and makes her desperate for answers. Shown into a hallway, she is told to ride the Domwaiter, an old dumbwaiter with a kinky flair. Four floors of ultimate satisfaction guaranteed, how could she refuse?

When Liam finds the party invitation under Davian's pillow, he questions the validity of their relationship. Refusing to let another man touch the woman he loves, Liam gains access into the mansion and makes a deal with the owner of the house. The kinkpromo author for August is Tuesday Morrigan.

Available now by Tuesday Morrigan:

Firefighter's Sour
(Changeling Press)
Purchase Link

When firefighter Niccolo Likoris realized the burning building was falling around them, he knew he had to make a choice. A choice that would change his life and haunt his every step. Forced to let the woman of his dreams know about the winged bones in his closet, Niccolo resigns himself to a life of loneliness.

Damini has searched long and hard for the man who saved her life. When she learns he’s secluded himself on a private Fijian island, she jumps at the chance to meet the man of her dreams.

Add one determined young woman, an emotionally scarred preternatural man, and a secluded island together, stand back and wait for the flames.

Interview with Tuesday Morrigan

What is your favorite type of kink to read and write?

Hmm, for me I'd have to say there is nothing quite like BDSM. There is this heart pounding that starts the moment you realize that someone is going to be sexually dominated in the scene. I believe it's the no holes barred element of the story that gets me. That's why I love reading and writing them. Although I've always been a reader and I'm trying my hand at writing. :)

What genres do you write?

I have this insatiable desire to write any kind of romance there is. At least every kind of erotic romance there is. I've written action/adventure, paranormal, paranormal with shape-shifters, vampires, and curses. On my current WIP list I have a futuristic with mutants, a Western historical set after the Civil War, a sci-fi with vampires and lycans, and a contemporary about a candy store owner.

Would you tell us about your latest and upcoming releases?

My latest release is THE FIRM: TEMPTRESS from Changeling Press. Fans of the FIRM series have been clamoring for this story, the second in the series, for some time now. I am happy to say that this is Khalid Lionheart, the oldest brother of the gang's story. It's titled TEMPTRESS because Brooklyn Barrister is the one woman that can and does push Khalid over the edge. She is running for her life and he is given the order to protect her. But watching isn't all that he wants to do.

My upcoming release is MONSTROUS KINK from Loose Id. It's the first in a series of novellas about a kingdom separated from the human world. The Kingdom of Krim is isolated by a veil that only parts for those who desire something inside the kingdom. In MONSTROUS KINK you meet Mila, a young lost woman who the veil parted for, and Zacharias, the King of Krim, a shape-shifting gargoyle who hasn't felt lust in over three hundred years, but he feels something dark, deep, and tempting for her.

What is your favorite scent?

Hmm...favorite scent...Honestly, it depends on the day. I would have to say I like anything baked. I love the candles that smell like baked cookies, pumpkin pie, or anything in that family.

Do any of your characters have tattoos, piercings or scars?

Yes. Yes. And yes. Brooklyn from TEMPTRESS has a tattoo and two piercings. A few characters in my upcoming have tattoos, piercings and scars. I have a thing for tattoos and piercings. Scars are kind of required for certain battle-ravaged warriors...

Do you have a website, blog, or email where readers can reach you?

Readers can always check out my website www.mochancreme.com for information on my latest and upcoming releases. I also have a blog, naughtynicespice.blogspot.com. And I am always excited to hear from readers so they may reach me at tuesday@mochancreme.com.

Damon Hendrick has met the man that he wants to spend his life with, Yukihara Masimoto. He has bought the ring he hopes to seal the deal with and looks forward to spending a romantic weekend with his lover at a Canadian ski resort.

During their vacation, Damon learns that there is more to Yukihara’s desire to be dominated than just fun. As the superficial happiness melts away from their relationship, Damon realizes that nothing is easy or simple, especially nothing worth as much to him as Yuki.

When Damon seeks to know more about Yukihara than the Japanese man is willing to share, his dream of the perfect relationship falls apart. Having to deal with Yukihara’s past of abuse and interest in BDSM, Damon’s greatest battle is slowing down his rush to have a perfect relationship.

Interview with MYA

What is your favorite type of kink to read and write?

My favorite type of kink to read has got to be BDSM. I enjoy reading about the power dynamics, the control and submission of and between characters. For the most part my interest is centered on the dominance and submission aspects more than pushing the envelope of pain. I like stories where dominants are not infallible, and where submissives are stronger than they might appear. I also like to explore the complexity and rewards of a D/s relationship as well in my writing. In my first novel, Obedience Training, I really had fun playing the ranking systems of werewolves against the concept of a dominant and submissive. I even had two characters who behaved one way while with their pack and switched power when alone.

Rushing Towards Perfection, also involves a D/s relationship, in which the submissive Yukihara tries to train his lover to be more of a dominant factor in their relationship. I just find the idea of topping (controlling) from the bottom position to be so intriguing as well and while I do not consider myself an expert by any means on the lifestyle or genre, I can definitely say that I do have experience.

If there was a BDSM section in the bookstore, there is where I would be…first!

What genres do you write?

My favorite genre to write is paranormal, hands down. I was raised on monster movies and can’t get enough of werewolves, gargoyles, mermen, serpentoids, zombies (although I won’t write a zombie story) and so on. I like vampires too but not of the Victorian type as much as the winged cousins of gargoyle-types as best seen in Underworld 2. I like to imagine new backstories and rules for sentient, magical species and then place them in contemporary settings like a casino or a rock quarry or a supermarket. Especially supermarkets!! For example a werewolf in a supermarket would probably spend a good deal of time in the meat section. A merman might be in the seasoning section, looking at the different types of salt or in seafood looking at the lobsters in a tank. A fire mage might like the variety of hot sauces to be found in the store….either way, I love imagining stuff like that.

So far, I have written only within the paranormal and contemporary genres but while I love science fiction (space operas), I’m not sure that my muse cares for them much. She definitely refuses to give me any plot bunnies of the type.

Would you tell us about your latest and upcoming releases?

My latest release from Loose-Id is Rushing Towards Perfection, and it is one of my rare contemporary stories. It is about two lovers from completely different backgrounds and how they fall in lust before falling in love. While one struggles with his past, the other struggles with the present of his. BDSM plays softly in this one, with a tad of my fascination for aftercare (a term used for care of a submissive after an intense session). There’s lots of snow and brandy and even a Jacuzzi in the mix as I was thinking of ski lodges and winter when I wrote this.

My next release will also be around January from Loose-Id and it’s called An Unnatural Worth. It is the tale of a vampire who was blinded by his coven as punishment for his arrogance. Left to die, he feels so helpless and ruined that when he is captured by a government lab, he is ready and resolved to die. It is from the help and guidance of a fellow prisoner, a werewolf, that he learns to live again and to love. While this story contains some mention of dominance and submission, it is mainly homage to Atlantic City with beautiful monsters thrown in for seasoning!

What is your favorite scent?

My favorite scent is cloves! It is definitely catnip for me. It instantly drives me insane and calms me at the same time. I don’t know how PC it is, but if someone is smoking cloves they’ve made an instant friend in me. I love the smell of it on men’s clothing, the smell of it burning as incense but not in food. It has such an earthy, sensuous aroma and it is the epitome of autumn (my favorite time) in my opinion.

Do any of your characters have tattoos, piercings or scars?

To be honest, I don’t really focus a lot on body art. When I am envisioning a character, I tend to think of mass before features. When I am writing, I like to focus more on build, height and the basics of eye and hair color. Physical weight and emotional strength are the things that I am most obsessed with, which to me, tells more about the characters in the long run than adornments.

Dominion (sequel to The Power of Two)

Still dealing with the aftershocks of his ordeal at Tristan's hands, Griffith St. James is fighting the urge to withdraw completely. He feels guilty for what happened, less than a man. The nightmares of his torture at his former master's hands are worse than ever. Dominic Marcellus struggles to draw Grif back into their life before Tristan, but fate has other plans.

Finding himself back in the clutches of his abusive former master, Grif is terrified and can only pray Dominic comes for him in time.

Interview with MYCHAEL BLACK

What is your favorite type of kink to read and write?

Hmm, I'd have to say it would be a tie between fisting and medical fetishism. Don't find much of either in stories, so...I tend to write them myself. Red hanky in the left pocket. *winks*

What genres do you write?

Little bit of everything. *laughs* My stories run the gamut: paranormal, fantasy, urban fantasy, sci-fi, horror, contemporary, BDSM, you name it. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be a tie between paranormal and fantasy. I cut my fantasy teeth on Tolkien; been hooked ever since.

Would you tell us about your latest and upcoming releases?

Let's see...

Shayne and I recently released the sequel to our vampire BDSM novella, The Power of Two. Dominion is the sequel, available now at Phaze, and it continues with Dominic and Griffith, our vampire D/s Masters, and their mortal subs. It delves deeper into Grif's past, and is a bit darker than Power of Two. November 5th, our campy sci-fi comedy comes out from Phaze as well. The Adventures of Captain Chase Sykes & Navigator Duncan Sampson is a wild, hilarious, but HOT parody of classic sci-fi. It was a blast to write, and we are eager to see if folks think we've lost our minds. *grins*

Single-authored, I recently had a Halloween short come out from Torquere Press. Titled "Whispers from Beyond", it was part of the Halloween Sips Blitz from Torquere. While it doesn't star Kris and Lane from Century Hill: Death (my 2007 Arcana), it does involve the asylum itself. I'm currently working on the novel-length sequel to it.

What is your favorite scent?

Clove, and in a close second, jasmine. I'm utterly addicted to both. Clove is perfect for me during rituals (I'm a Druid), and jasmine is just erotic as hell.

Do any of your characters have tattoos, piercings or scars?

A lot of them have tats and/or piercings. The primary character with prominent scars, however, is Triarius. He's the anti-hero in my novella "Beneath the Mask", coming out in Spring of 2008 (I believe) as one of four novellas in a body mod-themed anthology from Torquere. I'm currently working on the novel of his rise to power for NaNo this month.

As political unrest swirls in the palace of Tutankhamun, Commander Thabit, a Warrior of Amun-Ra, is eager for a stolen moment with his lover, the royal scribe, Akil. Leading his men to the border to face an unfamiliar tribe of renegades, Thabit isn't sure when he'll return home to Thebes...or his beloved again.

Interview with SABRINA LUNA

What is your favorite type of kink to read and write?

Oh, I love to read about hot, dominate males, mild bondage (scarfs, handcuffs) and "naughty ones" getting spankings (for their own good, of course)!

What genres do you write?

I write a variety of stories! I've currently got available contemporary titles, paranormal, Manlove (m/m) and erotica fantasies.

Would you tell us about your latest and upcoming releases?

My two latest releases are a m/m erotic short story, A WARRIOR'S HOPE, at Phaze.com and a paranormal anthology, MIDNIGHT ENCOUNTERS, where my wolf story, BAD MOON RISING, is featured at Whiskey Creek Press-Torrid.

Next up will be HOMECOMING, another m/m erotic short story, at Phaze.com and SECRETS, a contemporary erotic romance novella, which has two sexy stories.

What is your favorite scent?

I love aromatherapy and make bath salts for my friends for gifts! My own favorites include lavender, rose, bergamot and citrus scents.

Do any of your characters have tattoos, piercings or scars?

The one that stands out to me is Dixie, in my erotica fantasy, CHARADE, at Aphrodite's Apples. She receives clip-on nipple clamps from Mitchell. Will she commit to her benefactor and have her nipples pierced? You'll just have to read the story and find out. *wink-wink*
