This was a very engaging, sweet and spicy short love story.
- Beverly, The Romance Studio

Ross has just risen to leadership in a post-revolutionary world. Lucien is the majordomo at the new ruler's great house. Though he has admired Ross from afar and fantasizes about sex with the handsome leader, he's taken by surprise when Ross returns his interest.

Lucien knows that an affair with a lover he'll never have outside of the bedroom will break his heart, but refusing a man as compelling as Ross isn't an option. Will radicals bent on assassinating the new leader destroy their love or fortify it?

The following excerpt from TIP OF THE ICEBERG is for readers 18 and over.

"Nice view, isn't it, Normanson?"

Lucien jumped and spun around to face Ross who had just stepped out of the bathroom. His heart nearly leapt through his chest, not only because the leader had startled him, but because he was stark naked.

"I didn't mean to scare you," Ross said.

"I'm sorry for the intrusion, sir. I thought you were in meetings."

"The others broke for lunch and I went swimming. I have a lot on my mind and it helps me think."

Lucien smiled. "I never thought I'd find someone who loves the water more than I do."

"Growing up I lived near the seashore. I used to spend every spare moment in the ocean. Then I went off to military school. Damn!" Ross winced as he bent to open a dresser drawer.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Just an old injury." Ross rubbed his lower back.

Lucien had noticed the scars on his back when they'd been swimming. He'd wanted to ask about them, but in his profession he'd learned to mind his own business.

"Is there anything I can do?" Lucien asked.

Ross raised an eyebrow and said, "Yes, actually. How are you at massage? Even a couple of minutes would help a lot."

"I'll be glad to try, though I'm not a professional."

"That's fine. Right now I'll take anything. If I don't do something, the rest of the afternoon sitting behind a desk will be hell."

Ross flopped onto his stomach on the side of the bed nearest Lucien. He hadn't bothered to dress and Lucien wondered how he could endure touching him without getting aroused. Was it possible that Ross was trying to turn him on?

Drawing a deep breath and releasing it slowly, Lucien approached. He placed his hands on the center of Ross's back. Several scars roughened the flesh. The muscles beneath were hard.

"Here?" Lucien asked, managing to keep his voice steady.

Oh damn.

He gently pressed Ross's lower back.

Lucien swallowed and applied more pressure. After a few moments, Ross's muscles relaxed and he groaned softly. Lucien's hand strayed to the top of his buttocks.
