In it authors share 8-10 sentences from their work.<\/p>\nThis week’s excerpt from Warrior’s Grace picks up where the last one left off. Max has been searching for two children, Sam and Jane. He wants to adopt them, but they have gone missing from the children’s home. He’s finally found Jane, but she’s terrified and doesn’t want to be seen with him.<\/p>\n

Sir, please.\u201d She jerked away from his hold.<\/p>\n Anger coiled inside Max. \u201cJane, listen to me. I promise I won\u2019t let anything happen to you or Sam, but you must tell me where he is.\u201d<\/p>\n Again the girl glanced across the street. \u201cHe\u2019s watching me. Oh, sir, please go away\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhat\u2019s going on here?\u201d said a deep male voice.<\/p>\n And a bit more, if you’d like to continue:<\/strong><\/p>\n Max straightened to meet the gaze of a scruffy-looking, bearded man with deep-set blue eyes.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat are you doing with me daughter?\u201d growled the man.<\/p>\n \u201cYour daughter, is she?\u201d Max glowered at him. \u201cThis girl and her brother went missing from a children\u2019s home. What have you to do with it?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re mistaken.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think not. Where\u2019s her brother? I demand you bring him to me. Now.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou demand? This ain\u2019t no private gentleman\u2019s club where you can make demands. I say she\u2019s me daughter, and if you don\u2019t move away from her, I\u2019ll\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhy don\u2019t we settle this once and for all. I\u2019ll find a bobby.\u201d<\/p>\n The man blanched. \u201cNo need for that.\u201d<\/p>\n When wealthy businessman Max Barnes takes in two orphans to rear as his own, he has no idea that the governess he hires to care for them will change his life.<\/p>\n Grace Martin has spent years protecting her country.
