Last week in my snippet from Fangs and Fists: Grit, the Alpha Wolf of Detroit asked Grit to allow his demon master to contact him, despite Grit&#8217;s fear that he wouldn&#8217;t be able to win a battle of wills against the demon&#8217;s mind control. In this week&#8217;s snippet, the Alpha explains his reasons for making such a difficult request.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWe\u2019ll see that you don\u2019t harm anyone, but I believe in you, Grit. No matter what the demons did, you\u2019re still a wolf. You remember being a wolf, and I know that pack ties are stronger than demon magic.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWhy do you want me to contact him?\u201d Grit asked. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIf he gives you an assignment &#8211;\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThey\u2019re called orders.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIf he gives you orders and you appear to follow through with them, demons will come. In the midst of war, their love grows, but danger is everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>Haylen, the demon who resurrected Grit, offers a bargain that may save or destroy the rebellion.
