You have to put yourself in the story by becoming each character. Often that means placing aside your personal beliefs and emotions so that you can think like characters who are completely different than yourself.<\/p>\n<p>If every character was a reflection of an author&#8217;s personality, it would probably be impossible to make a story believable. For me, putting myself in the story by becoming someone else is how I&#8217;ve always written. I&#8217;m not sure I could do it any other way.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a writer, how do you put yourself in the story? As a reader, do you also put yourself in the story?
