Last week, my snippet from Fangs and Fists: Haylen ended with the demon Haylen disgusted by the &#8220;happy witch d\u00e9cor&#8221; in the RV belonging to the woman who helped free him from the demon masters. This week, I&#8217;m skipping ahead a sentence or two. Maddy, or Madeline, as Haylen prefers to call her, has just joined him in the RV where he is still recovering from the removal of the tracking device embedded in his spine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAre you hungry?\u201d she asked. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cNo.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cHow about some tea?\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cDo we have time for this?\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI\u2019ve been driving for over three hours and I\u2019ve just fixed the RV. My brother beat the crap out of this baby and left me with the repairs. Next time I see David, I\u2019m going to chew him a new one.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Haylen wanted to laugh, but it would have hurt too much. Besides, he didn\u2019t laugh.
