A blazing trail only he can see leads demon hunting biker Starr Johanson to his destined mate. A blessing placed on her family\u2019s ancestral land summons Mysti Wild to the cabin where she\u2019ll meet the man fated to share her life.<\/p>\n

Each fears the other will be frightened by magic they don\u2019t understand, but they quickly learn to trust each other, because no one can resist the person they were born to love.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you do for work?\u201d Starr asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family owns a publishing house. I\u2019m an editor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s really interesting. What kind of books do you publish?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe specialize in the paranormal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cReally? Fiction or non-fiction.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth, but mostly non-fiction.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy?\u201d<\/p>\n

Mysti smiled, not sure how to take his question. \u201cWhat do you mean why?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy the paranormal?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a family thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s the name of your publishing house?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSilver Yeti.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know it.\u201d<\/p>\n

This time Mysti laughed. \u201cRight. Sure you do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDidn\u2019t you publish the series about the paranormal activity at the camp in upstate New York?\u201d<\/p>\n

Her brow furrowed. \u201cDid you read it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI did.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re interested in the paranormal?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. Does that surprise you?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFrankly, yes. I didn\u2019t think a guy like you would be\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat? Able to read?\u201d Starr laughed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not what I meant. I didn\u2019t think you\u2019d be into hauntings and spirituality.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t expect you would be into it, either.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mysti wasn\u2019t sure why his remark surprised her. They pulled into the parking lot of her favorite restaurant in the area. It was run by a middle-aged couple and featured traditional home-cooked chicken dinners as well as a variety of desserts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope you like chicken,\u201d Mysti said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. Great protein.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you a health nut?\u201d<\/p>\n

Starr was in great shape, but not crazy lean, like so many gym rats she had seen. Mysti liked a guy with well-developed muscles, but she also liked a little bulk. Four and even six packs looked nice, but an eight pack was insane and more a turn-off than a turn-on. Mysti preferred company that ate meals rather than drank them.<\/p>\n

He probably won\u2019t touch dessert,<\/em> Mysti thought with a sigh.<\/p>\n

Well, she was having chocolate cake no matter what. That was her favorite and this restaurant had the best chocolate cake on the planet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like to be healthy, but I wouldn\u2019t call myself a health nut,\u201d Starr replied. \u201cI like some junk every now and then. Sweet potatoes with brown sugar and pecans. That\u2019s my favorite. And sweet potato pie. Why am I explaining myself? You\u2019re the one who serves gluten-free arrowroot no-sugar-added cookies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWow. Those cookies really bugged you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, they actually were pretty darn good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI can try to make sweet potato pie sometime.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll show you how.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou cook?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been known to.\u201d<\/p>\n
