This week’s snippet continues where last week’s left off. Priestesses Selena and Elspeth and their two guards have finally arrived at the Warrior Priests’ temple and are about to enter and meet the priests’ second in command.<\/p>\n
At the gate, the guards questioned Selena and her companions, scanned them, and checked their identification. <\/strong><\/p>\n As a sign of good faith, they allowed Grant and Franklin to keep their weapons. They were about to enter a temple that housed about two thousand warrior priests, so even armed, Grant and Franklin weren\u2019t too threatening. <\/strong><\/p>\n A shiver ran down Selena\u2019s spine now that she faced the reality of their potentially dangerous situation.<\/strong><\/p>\n The guards allowed them to pass. Another warrior priest met them at the gleaming black door. About six feet tall and blue-eyed, he looked in his late thirties or early forties. Like the other priests, he wore his long, blond hair braided down his back. A red symbol and a white one were embroidered on the collar of his uniform. The white signified his high priest status.
