Collecting things is fun no matter what your age. This week’s Wednesday Weekly Blogging challenge topic is “Something I Collected as a Child.”<\/p>\n

I collected model horses. Like a lot of kids, I was obsessed with horses. I lived in a suburban area where you pretty much never saw a horse, so I definitely fantasized about having one.<\/p>\n

At one point, my parents signed me up for riding lessons, and it turned out the reality of horses wasn\u2019t quite like my fantasy. After that, I still enjoyed collecting models and reading books about them, but I was content to admire them from afar!<\/p>\n

Now I live in a fairly rural area and farm animals are common. Several neighbors have horses, and they\u2019re lovely to look at, but my smaller, indoor pets are still enough for me to handle!<\/p>\n

Though I don\u2019t have my model horse collection any longer, I\u2019ve still kept a few pieces. This one was a gift from my grandfather:<\/p>\n
