<\/a><\/center>It’s Sunday and time for the WeWriWa blog hop during which writers share 8-10 sentences from one of their stories.<\/p>\nI’m excited to say that my science fiction romance Warrior Priest was released today.<\/p>\n
This excerpt starts off where last week’s left off. Selena has talked Jade into going for a moonlight swim. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy now?\u201d He glowered.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cYes.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cGood. I\u2019m not.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cAre you ever?\u201d She swept her hair behind her ears and walked toward him, her heartbeat quickening. <\/strong><\/p>\n She probably shouldn\u2019t have goaded him into this\u2014truly she hadn\u2019t expected him to give in and join her. Now that he had, she wasn\u2019t going to miss the opportunity to get to know him better.<\/strong><\/p>\n Jade stood waist deep in water, gazing into Selena\u2019s guileless blue eyes and trying to make sense of the emotions corrupting him.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n That’s 10 sentences, but here’s a bit more, if you’d like to read it.<\/p>\n Standing so close to this half-naked woman reminded him of the moment before combat. His heartbeat and breathing quickened. Excitement coursed through him. All that was missing was the fear that he might lose his life. This was a different and in some ways a far greater fear\u2014one that he might lose his soul. At least his life he would give willingly. What he felt for her was completely unexpected and not something he had chosen. <\/strong><\/p>\n Unlike him, Selena seemed perfectly fine, as if it were natural for her to be standing here in her undergarments, gazing at him like an uninhibited angel from the holy book.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWe haven\u2019t had much time alone to talk,\u201d she ventured.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been working.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI know, but I\u2019d still like to know more about you and your Order.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIf you\u2019d like an account of our history, I\u2019d be glad to\u2014\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sure that\u2019s interesting, but that\u2019s not what I meant.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n She stared at his arm and brushed her fingertips over the skin near his newest brand.
