<\/a><\/center>Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors blog hop during which writers share 8-10 sentences from their work.<\/p>\nLast week’s excerpt from Fangs and Fists: Grit left off with the rebel leaders trying to decide whether to accept Grit as an ally. Grit admitted that he still has a telepathic connection to the demon who resurrected him. This week’s excerpt picks up from there.<\/p>\n

Excerpt:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI can vouch for the kind of man Grit was, and I can tell you that his loyalty to those he loves is unwavering,\u201d Zari said. She placed a firm hand on Grit\u2019s shoulder.\u00a0 \u201cWhen he attacked us in the tower, he was no different than any of the other soulless, but I would bet my life that this man here and now is the Grit I knew before.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll see,\u201d Blaxton said.<\/p>\n \u201cFor now, Grit, you\u2019ll stay here in the warehouse,\u201d the Alpha told him. \u201cIt\u2019s not the greatest, but it will keep the rebellion safe, if it turns out you can\u2019t keep that demon out of your head.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHow long does he have to stay here?\u201d Zari asked. \u201cThat\u2019s not –\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cZari, it\u2019s fine. It\u2019s more than reasonable,\u201d Grit said.<\/p>\n Grit by Kate Hill<\/p>\n Werewolf gladiator Grit faced his own mortality in the arena, only to be resurrected by a demon. Grit now lives a shadowy existence as one of the soulless, remembering only bits and pieces of his former life. Nonetheless, he recognizes evil and knows he must fight for the future of his young son, as well as the rest of the world.<\/p>\n Zari, a vampire warrior, helped Grit escape the tower where he had been imprisoned. She had feelings for Grit when they’d first met, but at the time he had been mated to another wolf. Now that he’s on his own, they’re free to explore their feelings as they fight side by side as part of the rebellion against the demons. In the midst of war, their love grows, but danger is everywhere.<\/p>\n Haylen, the demon who resurrected Grit, offers a bargain that may save or destroy the rebellion.
