<\/a><\/center>Hello and welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors blog hop during which writers share 8-10 sentences from their work.<\/p>\nIn last week’s excerpt from Fangs and Fists: Grit, the rebel leaders have accepted Grit as an ally on a trial basis, and he’s been restricted to the warehouse until he proves himself. This excerpt picks up from there, and with the Alpha wolf providing words of encouragement.<\/p>\n

Excerpt:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll keep in touch,\u201d Ashley said before she and Blaxton left.<\/p>\n The Alpha remained behind for a moment. He held Grit\u2019s gaze and said, \u201cOnce a wolf, always a wolf. Don\u2019t forget that, even if you can\u2019t remember everything about your past.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThank you, sir,\u201d Grit replied.<\/p>\n The Alpha left.<\/p>\n Zari still stood nearby. She tilted her gaze toward his and said, \u201cThis won\u2019t last forever. I believe in you, Grit. I always have. That\u2019s why I chose you to help plan the wolves\u2019 escape from the tower.\u201d<\/p>\n Grit by Kate Hill<\/p>\n Werewolf gladiator Grit faced his own mortality in the arena, only to be resurrected by a demon. Grit now lives a shadowy existence as one of the soulless, remembering only bits and pieces of his former life. Nonetheless, he recognizes evil and knows he must fight for the future of his young son, as well as the rest of the world.<\/p>\n Zari, a vampire warrior, helped Grit escape the tower where he had been imprisoned. She had feelings for Grit when they’d first met, but at the time he had been mated to another wolf. Now that he’s on his own, they’re free to explore their feelings as they fight side by side as part of the rebellion against the demons. In the midst of war, their love grows, but danger is everywhere.<\/p>\n Haylen, the demon who resurrected Grit, offers a bargain that may save or destroy the rebellion.
