Excerpt from the Darkness Therein:

He smiled when she took his hand and touched the ruby coven ring.

“Nice ring.”

It took all his control not to laugh aloud. How many times had she used this approach on unsuspecting, self-absorbed fools who actually believed she was attracted to them? He was not a fool, but he was certainly willing to play along with her charade until he got what he wanted.

“It’s very old.” He stroked her hair, watching the perfumed strands slide between his fingers. “What lovely hair.”

She flung him another sultry look before grasping his wrist and guiding him out of the crowded club. “It’s too noisy in here to talk.”

“Far too noisy.”

Outside, the rain had subsided to a drizzle. Fog warped the headlights and street lights to widespread glares in the dimness. Her high heels clinked on the sidewalk. They turned down a narrow alley wedged between two brick buildings.

“Did you only have talking in mind?” he asked.

“Not only.” She tugged down the front of her dress, freeing her breasts before pressing her body closer to his. She reached down to trail her fingertips along the front of his pants.

The whole seduction scene was to distract him from the man approaching him from behind. Jocelyn waited until the knife pressed against his rib cage and the woman stepped away.

“A threesome. How exciting,” Jocelyn said.

Blurb:

Jocelyn has chased his nemesis for centuries. He swore that nothing or no one would stand between him and revenge on the creature that destroyed his life. That same rival leads Jocelyn to the one person who can reconnect him to the human race.

Art student Charlie has no idea that her family history binds her to a creature of legend–until he appears in the form of a tall, beautiful man with a thirst for revenge.
