Excerpt from the Darkness Therein:<\/strong><\/p>\n Charlie awoke early the next morning, anxious and fearful to discover if last night\u2019s events had been real or merely a sensational dream.<\/p>\n She washed and dressed in jeans and a cropped, fitted sweater that flattered the firm abs she\u2019d spent hours of crunches shaping. She braided her dark hair down her back before glancing at herself in the old-fashioned full-length mirror in the master bedroom.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not so bad,\u201d she said to herself. \u201cI guess he could be attracted to\u2026Charlie, you must be losing your mind.\u201d<\/p>\n Sighing, she gathered her laundry bag to bring to the basement. Even before she reached the bottom of the steps, she smelled coffee brewing. Her entire body tensed. He\u2019s really here!<\/em><\/p>\n She peered around the corner of the kitchen door, still wondering\u2026<\/p>\n Jocelyn glanced at her from where he stood by the picture window behind the round glass table. His eyes were as penetrating in daylight as they had been in the dark. The coal-colored pants and sweater he wore only made his skin seem paler in the glare of the sun. Mark\u2019s shirt was folded beside her coffee cup on the table.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re up early.\u201d She clutched the laundry tighter. \u201cHow are you feeling this morning? Your arm must be really sore.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m fine.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSure.\u201d She raised her eyes to heaven. \u201cYou\u2019d better get that wound checked out because you can get an infection.\u201d<\/p>\n He pushed up the sleeve of his sweater, revealing a long, red, partially-healed scar. Her gaze swept the length of his lean forearm and the pronounced curve of his biceps. Her pulse quickened, and she cleared her throat.<\/p>\n \u201cI forgot. You\u2019re supernatural.\u201d She tried to sound nonchalant.<\/p>\n Blurb:<\/strong><\/p>\n Jocelyn has chased his nemesis for centuries.
