\u201cWow.\u201d She exhales noisily and shakes her head. \u201cThat was close.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cToo close.\u201d I feel like an overgrown jackass. Here I am, thinking I saved her life, and she ends up possibly saving mine. I hate to admit I\u2019m wrong, and I can\u2019t stand owing anybody anything. Saying thank you leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, especially when I\u2019m thanking a human witch who\u2019s probably half my age for saving my life. Still, she did the deed, and I need to own my failure.<\/p>\n
