GOOD GUY OR BAD GUY?
MEET GUNTHER QUILL, HOLLYWOOD PRODUCER
Gunther Quill was a bad guy in book 4 of the Hollywood Hearts series – Movie Lovers. He seduced the heroine with the promise that he would read her movie script. Then he didn’t, even though her sister was a big movie star. Still, he’s Gunther Quill, successful, rich, powerful producer. He doesn’t need anyone.
In book 5 of the series – Love’s Last Chance, he tried to reconnect with his former fiancée, Dorrie. She was a dancer in the movies who broke her ankle on the stairs of his beach house. She had to give up dancing, so Gunther gave her up. He needed a famous, sought-after fiancée and Dorrie no longer fit the bill.
When he saw former boyfriends try to win Dorrie back, Gunther got competitive. He tried to win her back. He made a big effort in book 5 and wouldn’t get out of the way of the hero. I kept telling him to step aside and he just crossed his arms over his impressive chest and shook his head. I warned Dorrie, but when Gunther turns on the charm…well, he’s hard to resist. I took him aside and pleaded with him. Still, no. I asked him what he wanted. He said he wanted his own book. He wanted to be the hero and tell his story. I had to agree or have my book wrecked. Gunther takes no prisoners.
And thus Gunther Quill’s story, LOVERS & LIARS, was born. The secretary he fired for incompetence, Amy, decided to get revenge. She knew how Gunther suspected that everyone he met wanted something. They wanted to further their careers by using him as a stepping stone. He hated that. He hated liars and phonies.
So Amy sent her gorgeous roommate, Erica, a talented actress, to interview for Amy’s old job. Erica was hired. She went in prepared to use Gunther to the hilt to get contacts and launch her movie career.
This time, Gunther didn’t suspect anything. He was the sitting duck, the deer in the headlights. Did Erica get her wish? She did. She hid her ambition and won a coveted audition. Did she get the part? She did.
But Erica didn’t figure on falling in love with Gunther. What would happen if he found out? She shuddered to think.
In LOVERS & LIARS we get a peek into Gunther’s background, the difficulty with his dad, and the tragedy that happened to the woman he loved –both contributed to making Gunther the way he was, a ruthless man intent on winning at all costs.
But Gunther is brought down by one little actress who lives to regret her duplicity as she ends up with the part that will launch her into stardom, but she loses the one man she wanted to share her victory with.
This is a contemporary romance. Of course, there is a happily ever after. But you’ll have to read the book to find out what it is. Is Gunther reformed? Maybe –at least for a little while.
A bit about the book

Her friend, Amy, plotted revenge on sexy, bad-boy producer, Gunther Quill, put Erica in a plum job. The women bent the truth like a pretzel to get her hired. Would Erica regret her lies when Gunther turned on the heat?

Sounds like Gunther has his work cut out for him if he’s going to find redemption and Erica is really going to make him work for it. I love it when the “bad guy” gets to tell his side of the story!
Me, too, Kate. Thank you for having me on your blog. Yes, I love it when you find out more about the bad guy. Makes him three dimensional, rather than flat. Gunther Quill is the only the second bad guy I’ve written who has captured and intrigued me so much. And the only one to get his own book. I loved writing his story, though it was a challenge to find the good aspects of his personality. Lol.
Nice going — turning the bad guy into a hero. This sounds like a good series.
Thank you so much, Kayelle. It was quite a challenge. I had painted him as a rather dastardly guy before. Now I had a lot of backpedaling to do. But it worked out. I loved writing this series of unusual characters and their individual stories.
This is a awesome read Gunther was one of my Hate/Love Guys
I enjoyed the books in this series a lot
This was my favorite of all the books in this series:) Loved watching Gunther lose his ‘bad boy’ status, ha ha!
