Rosemary and Guy have just moved into their dream apartment, but for Rosemary it soon becomes a nightmare. What happens when your sweet, elderly neighbors turn out to be devil-worshipping cult leaders who actually have a connection to Satan? Rosemary finds out.
Rosemary’s Baby (1968) is an old movie. It doesn’t have a lot of special effects and it doesn’t depend on CGI. What it does have is a creepy plot and a gang of truly evil villains. In this movie it seems like the bad guys are lurking around every corner. From a self-centered husband who will do anything for career success to seemingly caring neighbors who have their own agenda, the villains are nasty.
Two stand out among this malicious mob. Minnie and Roman Castevet certainly aren’t what you expect villains in a horror movie to be. They’re charming, amusing and likable, even after you know the extent of their evil. They’re eccentric but seemingly harmless as they go out of their way to be helpful. Their only major flaw appears to be that they’re a little too nosy, but who wouldn’t be when playing matchmaker for the devil?
If you enjoy outstanding villains, this classic horror movie is a must-see.
