They’re tall, dark, handsome and caped. They’re also on radically different sides. One fights for the weak while the other feeds on them. Zorro and Dracula are two great characters who bring us excitement and adventure on the written page and on screen.
The following actors have played both Zorro and Dracula and made each character their own.
- Frank Langella – In the 1970s he was smooth and mysterious both as the masked one (The Mark of Zorro, 1974) and as the charismatic count (Dracula, 1979).
- George Hamilton – He brought humor and charm to both characters, first as Dracula (Love at First Bite, 1979) and then as Zorro (Zorro the Gay Blade, 1981). He definitely showed that vampire stories don’t have to be serious to be great.
- Duncan Regehr – His beautiful but psychotic Dracula (The Monster Squad, 1987) was certainly unforgettable and his good-natured Zorro/Diego (Zorro TV series, 1990-1993) was one of the best versions of the character ever.
Have I missed any actors who have played both characters? If I did, let me know in the comments.
