How long have you been a vampire?
I’m Celtic fey, a baobhan sith. I’m vampiric but not a human who died and became a vampire. I have been a baobhan sith or you can say, dancing vampire, all my life. A woman never tells her age but it’s well over 5000 years just to give you an idea.
What’s the worst thing about being a vampire?
The worst thing is the fey live without love. Don’t get me wrong, under hill (the fey realm) is wonderful and I love being fey but we don’t have love. Now there is lots of lust and attraction but not the strong human emotion called love. I became curious about human men and love after my sister Sorcha fell in love with Ian, a human. I yearned for this powerful, life-changing completeness the humans call love.
Are you a magical creature or are you a different species?
Magical. The baobhan sith are fey beings from Scottish lore. We are more powerful than any druid or enchantress. The most powerful goddess underhill, Morrigan, is like a mother to us. Though she is not always pleased with us, especially when we fall in love with humans.
Where are you from?
I live in a round house under hill (the other world) with my sisters. It is also called the land of forever summer. The weather is always pleasant. Sunlight there doesn’t cause us any harm but the earth’s sun does. We can only come to earth at night.
Do you have a love interest?
Yes, Cameron, a human. Underhill we’d call him a bard. He plays the bagpipes at weddings. When he performs he wears a kilt draped around his strong thighs. He has sandy hair, a broad chest, and the manly touch of a light bit of hair dusting his strong jaw, above his lips and on his firm chin. And when the wind blows his kilt up…well I won’t say anything more about that except that no one it to look but me. After all…he’s my man.
What makes you happy?
I love to dance the Highland Fling as Cameron plays his bag pipes. With a hand on one hip and the other in the air, I bounce on one foot while I side-kicked the other and I switch back and forth. My long hair swings across my back and I’m filled with a happy zeal.

Excerpt:
“Murdina, you are so beautiful, my dancing—”
“Dancing baobhan sith.”
Before he could answer, shrill beeps pierced the air. He leapt off the bed. “What is it? What now?”
As she pulled herself to a sitting position, she smelled smoke, something was burning. She coughed. “I forgot about the eggs.”
He ran to the kitchen, turned the oven off and the fan on, and opened all the windows to rid the house of smoke. He grabbed a magazine and stood under the round, white gadget making that horrid noise, and fanned the smoke away from it until the beeping stopped.
Murdina plopped onto the sofa, heaving with laughter. “They’re burnt. You want a sandwich? We don’t have to cook that.”
She nodded her head, she couldn’t stop laughing. Cameron grabbed the loaf of bread and took out four slices. He pulled out a container of cold ham and a jar of mayonnaise and assembled a sandwich for each of them. He put each one on a small plate and grabbed two plastic bottles of Irn-Bru from the fridge. The orange carbonated drink had a subtle citrus taste. The more she drank it, the more she liked it. After they munched on the sandwiches and devoured the Irn-Bru,
Murdina tossed the bottles into the trash can in the kitchen and set their two plates in the sink. Now that their stomachs were satisfied, they could deal with their other hunger. She clutched both of Cameron’s hands and tugged him back into the bedroom.
