Yesterday I wrote about my favorite creepy mad doctors. Today I’m going with a guilty pleasure–my top 3 most appealing mad doctors. They’re wicked, dangerous and most definitely crazy, but somehow they still manage to be captivating.
- Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs – He’s an interesting man– intelligent, observant, ruthless and even weirdly conversational. He draws you to him even though instinct tells you to stay away.
- Dr. Anton Phibes from The Abominable Dr. Phibes – I love horror, but not all horror movies leave me with an unsettled feeling. This movie was disturbing on several levels– mostly because there’s something wickedly appealing about Anton’s dedication to his wife. He’s weird and unreasonable, determined and fascinating.
- Dr. Nicholas Cavanaugh from Boxing Helena – It’s hard not to sympathize with poor Nick. He’s so obsessed with beautiful, nasty Helena and her cruelty seems to be part of the charm for him. His fantasies spin out of control and it turns out that Helena’s mean streak isn’t nearly a match for his.
