Loki episodes 3 and 4 are the best yet. In Episode 3: Lamentis, Loki and the Variant—called Sylvie—find themselves on a moon that’s about to be destroyed. I’ve been eager to see more of the female variant, and I wasn’t disappointed. A Loki or not, Sylvie is a great match for our Loki. Even knowing that both are compulsive liars, it’s impossible to remain unmoved by their moments of bonding. This episode shows a playful side to Loki that’s reminiscent of some of his exchanges with his brother in Thor and Thor: Ragnorok. Despite the dangerous circumstances, this is probably the most unburdened the God who is “burdened with glorious purpose” has ever appeared.
Sylvie does something that is almost impossible—she is every bit as engaging and charismatic as Loki.
In Episode 4: The Nexus Event, Loki and Sylvie are once again imprisoned by the TVA. It looks pretty grim for them, but Mobius and Hunter B15 make some surprising decisions. This episode has some pretty serious moments. One particular event with Mobius has me hoping it’s not what it seems. All I can say is I’m grateful for the post credit scene.
Eagerly awaiting Episode 5 on Wednesday.
