Title: Subspecies V: Boodrise (2023)
Summary: An exploration of the origins of the vampire Radu from the Subspecies franchise.
What I Liked: Radu. Gotta love Radu. He’s a compelling vampire architype. This movie explores his life from his unsettling birth, through his “human” life in which he’s been turned against his own kind and becomes a religious fanatic who hunts vampires, to the fulfillment of his destiny as a vampire-demon hybrid overtaken by his base desires. From start to finish, this movie is an exciting ride. Radu, Helena, Ash, Ariel–a great bunch of vampires. I enjoyed this so much, I re-watched all the subspecies movies. If you like vampires, don’t miss Bloodrise.
