Who is the villain or antagonist in your story and what is he\/she like?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The antagonist, and often seen as the villain, is a demon named Damien. The more reviews that I\u2019ve been reading, the more people seem to be drawn to him, which is great! I wanted him to be dark, complex, and a little insane. Being the sole ruler of the darkness between world \u2014 a place where the protagonist and her friends end up \u2014 he is drawn to Nora because of her history that links their two lives together. He often doesn\u2019t communicate with transgressors, but he does with them. He seems cold, even when humoured, I think this is why people like him so much, he\u2019s kind of a jerk.<\/p>\n

Is one of your main characters a supernatural creature that is traditionally considered “evil?” If yes, how does this character break that traditional stereotype?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, but it\u2019s through blood. What is thicker than blood, right? Nora has to come to terms with what she is by the third book, and decide exactly where her life lies. I think she breaks from the stereotype because she has a choice. There\u2019s no twist of fate that will help make her decision easier, it\u2019s all on her.<\/p>\n

What kind of antagonist is your favorite?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The royal jerk with a sense of humor. I find this makes them relatable, and enjoyable to read about.<\/p>\n

To you, how important is a good antagonist?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Very, very important. They help move the wheels of the story. If they\u2019re uninteresting, then why should you care if they die, or get their way? I think the more developed they are, and the more the reader wonders about them, the better the story.<\/p>\n

What is one of your favorite paranormal creatures and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vampires, it\u2019s always been vampires. I\u2019ve pulled back a bit over the last few years, but back in the \u201cAnita Blake\u201d beginnings, I couldn\u2019t get enough of them. The first book I every read, and fell head over heels for was, \u201cMy Babysitter is a Vampire\u201d by Ann Hodgman, from there they had me wrapped around their fingers.<\/p>\n

Nora battles zombies, doppelg\u00e4ngers, eyeless bikers, and the demon\u2014whose interests are more than just a game of cat and mouse. If it\u2019s all in her head, then it should be easy. But, if not, it means the demon knows about her sticky past, and the death of her twin sister.<\/p>\n
