She was part of the action instead of a damsel in distress.

2) Ghostbusters (2016) – I was not a fan of the original, but I loved the female cast remake of Ghostbusters. The humor all around was great and these women, unlike a lot of female movie characters, were actually relatable. Chris Hemsworth as the secretary also added some hilarious moments.

1) The Shining (1997)- I liked the original, but the remake surpassed it. As a miniseries, it was able to go deeper with plot and character development. Both movies had a strong cast, but I preferred Steven Weber’s version of Jack. I also preferred the ending of the miniseries to that of the original movie.

Coming soon: Top 3 Horror Remakes that are as Good as the Originals.

Links courtesy of IMDb.

Generally, I enjoy remakes, although most times they don’t stand up to the originals.
