Today I’m doing the top 3 that I liked as well as the originals. What remakes have you seen that are as good as the originals?

3) Psycho (1960 and 1998)- Usually I prefer to see what new angles a remake can bring to the story, but in this case I loved how completely faithful the remake was to the original. The changes were minor and the acting was a fantastic tribute to the original movie. Psycho will always be one of my favorite horror movies and I was truly impressed by the remake.

2) The Fly (1958 and 1986) – Both versions of the Fly were creepy, romantic and sad. I saw the remake before the original and it has always been one of my favorites. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the original, but I enjoyed it just as much. I can’t choose a favorite because both versions were great.

1) Halloween (1978 and 2007) – Both versions are terrifying. When I’m in the mood to watch a movie that will leave me unsettled, either version works.

Links courtesy of IMDb.

A few days ago, I listed the top 3 horror remakes that I liked better than the originals.
