Title: The Gravedigger<\/a> (2019)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Summary:\u00a0 A gravedigger and a fortune teller befriend the Frankenstein monster.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What I Liked: Frankenstein is one of my favorite books, and the Gravedigger fits well as a “missing” chapter from the original story. There’s so much I like about this movie that I could go on for pages, but these reviews are supposed to be short, so I’ll do my best to highlight what I like best about it. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Gravedigger is satisfying because the creature finds two people who see that there’s more to him than his outward image. The story doesn’t excuse the creature’s past crimes, but it shows that he’s capable of redemption. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Frankenstein himself is the same selfish, egotistical jerk from the original book. No matter how sad his story, he remains an unsympathetic character. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The relationship between the gravedigger and the creature is the best. There’s so much humor during their interactions, but also a lot of emotion. Nadya is also a good character who’s relatable. She’s seen the good and bad in humanity, and though she’s not pure, she tries to do her best with what she has.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before this review gets too long, I’ll end it by saying if you are interested in Frankenstein, especially in a story that’s character driven rather than filled with action, watch the Gravedigger.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
