Of course, at that time, I only knew I\u2019d been drained near death, fed blood from my vampire mother\u2019s veins, and woke up immortal and craving blood.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you drink blood or are you a psychic vampire?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Personally, I think the psychic vampires are more dangerous.\u00a0 I\u2019m a blood drinker.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s the worst thing about being a vampire? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Loss of the sunlight. I\u2019d love to see the sun shining on the blue ocean below my ancestral home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you a magical creature or are you a different species? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a magical different species. (he laughs)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you enjoy being a vampire? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most times. Of course, being a vampire does present problems, sorrow and regret at times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you feel about humans?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m in love with a mortal woman to the dismay of the Vampyre Council and to my own danger. I judge humans the way I judge vampires or any other species\u2014by their actions.\u00a0 But I do have to admit that beauty is high on my list of attributes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where are you from? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was born in 1632 in Devon, England.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your main purpose in life?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A race of immortals with human morals and gentleness\u2014half-vampire and half-human to be a bridge between the two factors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you have a code of honor?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a relic from the Restoration era.\u00a0 My code of honor is often influenced by that mortal man who became the vampire Morgan D\u2019Arcy. Now, in the middle seventeenth century, the aristocracy drank to excess, whored, and\u2026well, I try not to allow this time of my life to rule my actions. The Vampyre Council, <em>Les Elus<\/em>, has the end say, but I\u2019m a rebel at heart.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What makes you angry?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lucien St. Albans and <em>Les Elus<\/em>. I offer this explanation. Both stand in the way of my life purpose. <em>Les Elus<\/em> forbids the creation of a DarkeChilde, a vampire-human hybrid. As you may have noticed, I\u2019m not overly bothered by the rules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Name one person you admire.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Charles II.\u00a0 I was with his touring band of banished Royalists after his father was beheaded at Whitehall. He suffered great hardship, and yet was restored to the throne of England without an ounce of bloodshed.<\/p>\n<p>~~~~~~~~~<\/p>\n<p>Since Sinners\u2019 Opera, Sinners\u2019 Obsession, and Cardinal Desires are parts of the Obsession series, I\u2019d like to include the book video links rather than blurbs.\u00a0 The following excerpt is from the book of my heart, Sinners\u2019 Opera, starring Morgan, whom I love.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Excerpt:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dreams misted the dark eyes drifting over my face.\u00a0 Her memories came to me clear as images on a movie screen.\u00a0 She thought I resembled a British musician in the rock band she\u2019d been watching on television the day the lawyer delivered adoption papers.\u00a0 That sinful day Mary Jones had cast her illegitimate son away, like little Moses, on a river of legal documents.\u00a0 She considered taking vows to atone for that sin.<\/p>\n<p>My heart segued to the rhythmic throb of her pulse.\u00a0 I was too sick to question why I could hear her thoughts and simply closed my eyes to listen.\u00a0 In the limbo between wakefulness and sleep, the sorrow in her soul lapped at me.\u00a0 I wished somehow I could ease her pain.<\/p>\n<p>Razor-sharp memory sliced through me, jerking me upright.\u00a0 \u201c\u2018<em>od\u2019s teeth<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before the fall, I\u2019d been shot.<\/p>\n<p>Rapid-fire images snapped before my eyes.\u00a0 I saw my Jag plunging over the guardrail at the top of the Cooper River Bridge.\u00a0 Now, in the silence of a church, I felt the wind whistling past my face as the force of the fall sucked the breath from my lungs and tried to pluck me from the convertible.\u00a0 Irrationally, I\u2019d clung to the wheel while my beloved roadster sank, in a slow rocking ballet, to the river bottom.<\/p>\n<p>During that interminable swift plunge, I hadn\u2019t been afraid of dying.<\/p>\n<p>Mary touched my arm.\u00a0 \u201cBe still, hon, or you\u2019re gonna start bleeding again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I was in no danger of bleeding to death or dying from any natural cause.\u00a0 I knew why I\u2019d heard her thoughts, why the aroma of her blood bedeviled me.\u00a0 I knew who and what I am.<\/p>\n<p>The blood staining her blouse was a miracle drug that could cure the most grievous of human diseases\u2014and secure eternity for a predator. The wound that would have been fatal to a mortal had almost healed.\u00a0 Within hours after the ritual blood exchange, a fragile yet potent virus had mutated my DNA.\u00a0 I\u2019d never actually died; would never feel death\u2019s cold hands.\u00a0 The Vampyre Effect was a transformation from one species to another.\u00a0 <em>All so long ago<\/em>.\u00a0 For almost four centuries, I had been a vampire.<\/p>\n<p>The woman leaned over me.\u00a0 I heard the blood whispering in her veins, saw the jugular bulging with each strong heartbeat.\u00a0 Even the scent of my own blood fed the craving.\u00a0 Hunger wrenched my stomach, the need for blood shuddering over me in flashes of heat.\u00a0 The pain twisting inside me was a living thing\u2014ugly, urgent, older than the world.\u00a0 In a vain attempt at control, I ground my teeth until my jaw ached.\u00a0 My hands clenched into fists, the tendons bunched like steel bands beneath the skin.\u00a0 I was losing it, my eyes turning red.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRun, Mary,\u201d I panted, shoving her.\u00a0 \u201cFor God\u2019s sake, run.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her hands branded my shoulders.\u00a0 Need coursed through me.<\/p>\n<p>Her brow puckered.\u00a0 \u201cHow did you know my name?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou look like a Mary,\u201d I gasped, trying to crawl away.\u00a0 \u201cBloody hell, run, woman.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saliva broke beneath my tongue.\u00a0 My heart thundered like a cavalry charge.\u00a0 Fever stung my veins.\u00a0 Instinct twisted me around to face my salvation and my damnation.\u00a0 My lips parted to reveal the one unmistakable characteristic of my kind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFangs,\u201d Mary breathed, clutching her cross.\u00a0 \u201cLord Jesus, save me. \u00a0You\u2019re a demon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I knelt in front of my savior, bowed my head over her heaving breasts to touch the cross to my lips.\u00a0 \u201cToo late to run, too late to hide, and Mary dearest, your cross won\u2019t save you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I held her gaze, a slow smile parting my lips.\u00a0 Her eyes clouded, jaw slackening.\u00a0 Too weak to command my more esoteric powers, I could still mesmerize my prey.\u00a0 It was just too bloody easy.\u00a0 Vampires are the perfect predators.\u00a0 But I had a choice.\u00a0 Didn\u2019t I?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s your name?\u201d \u00a0She inhaled a long, slow breath, toying with my hair. \u00a0\u201cYou\u2019re as beautiful as an angel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another wave of misery broke over me.\u00a0 She wasn\u2019t the only one who thought I looked like an angel.\u00a0 Once, the woman I love\u2014the woman who didn\u2019t love me\u2014believed I <em>was<\/em> an angel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy name is Morgan.\u201d\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t bring myself to say my second name, an angel\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>Mary ran her finger down my cheek.\u00a0 \u201cPretty name, Morgan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So simply, the seductive dance that would end in death began.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a of a truck pulling a horse trailer, having bred, trained and showed Andalusian horses for thirteen years.<\/p>\n<p>Linda began writing in high school when her favorite English teacher, Mrs. Burris,
