\"Don't_Spank_the_Vamp\"<\/a>How long have you been a vampire?<\/strong><\/p>\n

While I have become accustomed to being a creature of the night, know this\u2026I did not become a vampire by choice.\u00a0 I was turned against my will.\u00a0 But that is another story.<\/p>\n

To answer your question, my turning happened one hot August when the raspberries were in bloom over one hundred years ago.\u00a0 I am young for my kind.<\/p>\n

Do you drink blood or are you a psychic vampire?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I drink blood, of course, but I do not feed indiscriminately.\u00a0 I have only taken my nourishment from two people.\u00a0 Two beautiful women I love more than my own life.<\/p>\n

What’s the worst thing about being a vampire?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was difficult to accept what happened to me, but once I did, I tried to take my new life in stride. I would have to say that the worst thing about being a vampire is the loneliness. Because I do not age, I cannot stay in one place for too long, so making friends is problematic. So, it\u2019s only been my sister and I throughout the years. And while I love her with everything in me, I longed for someone to call my own.<\/p>\n

What is the best thing about being a vampire?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have seen and experienced so many wonderful things in my century of life. But I have to say the best thing was discovering had I not become a vampire, I wouldn\u2019t have been alive to meet my soulmate.\u00a0 The thought of what I might of missed makes my blood run even colder!<\/p>\n

Are there many others like you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are vampires all over the world, some living in large clans, others like myself, preferring to live on their own.\u00a0 We often come together for meetings or celebrations, but I am not a social creature.\u00a0 Some of the vampires I\u2019ve met in the past can be quite cruel and dangerous to humans and I am not that way.<\/p>\n

When I was a young vampire and learning about my own kind, I was involved with a beautiful vampiress, but one night I walked in on her torturing and killing a human familiar (blood host). The horrific scene made me realize I wasn\u2019t that type of man\u2026vampire.\u00a0 I walked away and never returned to the clan.<\/p>\n

Are you a magical creature or are you a different species?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am a man.\u00a0 Or was a man.\u00a0 Now I am more.<\/p>\n

Do you enjoy being a vampire?<\/strong><\/p>\n

At first I hated what I\u2019d become. If Aithne, my beloved sister, had not forced me to feed, I would have gladly died.\u00a0 Then, I used the hate I had for what I was to find the creatures who\u2019d made me like them.<\/p>\n

It was many years later that I truly accepted what I was.\u00a0 And it was only when I found my sweet soulmate did I finally begin to live.\u00a0 Yet that finding was fraught with so much fear and uncertainty, there was a time I thought perhaps dying would be best for everyone.<\/p>\n

How do you feel about humans?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are good humans and bad humans, just as there are good vamps and bad vamps. \u00a0I try to judge each person on their own merit.<\/p>\n

Where are you from?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was born in the small town of Sonora, California. A beautiful mountain city, yet when I think about it, I am filled with pain, regret and grief.\u00a0 Again\u2026that is another story.<\/p>\n

Name one person you admire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My sister, Aithne. She has stood by me, no matter what I was going through. She kept me alive when all I wanted to do was walk into the sun.\u00a0 She has encouraged me, helped me stay strong, worked by my side and given up her life for me.\u00a0 And, when the time came, she did the most wondrous thing of all.<\/p>\n

She let me go.<\/p>\n

What is your main purpose in life?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have had many purposes in my hundred plus years of life.\u00a0 Before I became a vampire, I was a simple lad working for his family. Then I chose a life of vengeance, punishing those who\u2019d destroyed my life.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been a poet, an artist and a warrior. In this latest life I am a simple businessman who, along with my sister, runs a specialty shop called Don\u2019t Spank the Vamp<\/em>. It caters to those adventurous souls who want a little spice added to their lovemaking.<\/p>\n

The creatures who made me a vampire were my enemies for many years. And once they were taken care of, to my shame, I became my own worst enemy. It was only much later that I made peace with myself.<\/p>\n

And it was my precious, beautiful soulmate who taught me how to love.<\/p>\n

Do you have a love interest?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Love interest?\u00a0 Such paltry words for how I feel about the woman who owns my very soul.\u00a0 Every time I see her I realize \u201cmy night has become a sunny dawn because of her.\u201d<\/p>\n

She is my darling Dawn, my soulmate, the love of my life.\u00a0 Some friends who wanted to give her a birthday present brought her to my shop. One look at her and I knew.<\/p>\n

She would be mine forever.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t smooth sailing for either of us.\u00a0 I was afraid to tell her what I was and came close to losing her because of it.\u00a0 She was an artist on the brink of a wondrous new career and almost had to choose between fame and love.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m just grateful we found our way to each other.<\/p>\n

What makes you happy?<\/strong><\/p>\n

An easy question. Being with my sweet Dawn makes me happy.\u00a0 I enjoy watching her eyes light up when we discover a new artist on Monterey Bay\u2019s Fisherman\u2019s Warf.\u00a0 I feel a peace like I\u2019ve never known as we wander hand in hand along the beach in the moonlight. Even something as ridiculous as sharing a dripping ice cream cone as we shop for tacky souvenirs makes me smile.<\/p>\n

And making love to her?\u00a0 I cannot describe the joy it gives me to share my heart, soul and body with the woman I love.<\/p>\n

What do you think is your greatest strength?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dawn.\u00a0 Loving her makes me the strongest creature on the planet. I am a better man when I am with her.\u00a0 She makes me proud to be a vampire.<\/p>\n

What do you think is your greatest weakness?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Again, Dawn. The fear of losing her sends me to my knees. \u00a0Our love keeps me healthy and whole. I\u2019ve waited so long for her, I can\u2019t imagine a world without her in it.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnything is possible if you want it enough.\u201d\u00a0 Aidan finally dropped her hand, leaving her bereft of his touch.\u00a0 \u201cLife is full of possibilities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dawn grinned.\u00a0 \u201cWell\u2026 I must say that I hope her prediction about my art comes true.\u00a0 I could use a little help there.\u201d<\/p>\n

She blinked, surprised.\u00a0 \u201cI guess.\u00a0 If you want to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am interested in you, beautiful Dawn.\u00a0 Everything about you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Staring at him, she wondered if she was dreaming.\u00a0 She\u2019d never had a man like this interested in her.\u00a0 Ever.\u00a0 Yet everything about him drew her to him.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t make sense.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t act like this.\u00a0 She wasn\u2019t the type of woman who believed in lust at first sight.\u00a0 But this man made her panties wet and her breasts throb.\u00a0 She wanted to get to know him better, but there was a part of her that screamed that she knew him already.\u00a0 This feeling confused the hell out of her.<\/p>\n
