Excerpt from Sam’s Silver Wolf:
Once he’s gone, I close my eyes and release a pent-up breath. Hot. Silver Wolf is so hot.
While he’s showering, I take first aid supplies out of the cabinet and clean the cuts on my hands and arms. Luckily, my heavy winter coat sort of protected me for the few seconds I’d been in the open before Stalker jumped on me. I can still feel his big, hairy wolf’s body shielding me against the deadly swarm.
Moments later, Stalker returns, a towel wrapped around his waist. Most of his cuts have faded to pink. Only a few deep ones are still oozing.
“Want some bandages?” I ask.
And a bit more:
He shrugs. “I won’t need them, but how about if I help you?”
My heart pounds and I moisten my lips. Should I let him? It’s necessary, really. I don’t know how bad the scratches on my back are, but if I take off that robe it probably won’t go back on, at least not tonight.
“You don’t have to be afraid of me. I won’t bite you, unless you ask me to.” He gently touches my chin. “Come on. You don’t want to get an infection. Look, I’ll turn around and you can make yourself decent.”
The problem is I don’t want to make myself decent.
