Excerpt:
“I’m being a fool again,” Grim muttered and approached the wolf.
It watched him warily, but made no motion to attack. Of course that could change in seconds.
Grim could scarcely believe his stupidity when he actually touched the beast. Though many, the wounds were mostly shallow. With care, the wolf might survive. It was quite young. Apparently it had attacked its pack leader, lost the fight, and ran off to either die or recover.
If it stayed out in the open, its chances of survival were slim. Should Grim risk bringing it to the hut?
He slid his arm under it. No response.
Grim lifted the wolf. The creature dangling in his arms, he walked back to the hut.
When he stepped inside, Asgerd was awake and sitting by the fire.
She rose, her eyes wide. “Grim, what are you doing with that wolf?”
“It’s injured.”
“I can see that. Why bring it here?”
“I think we can save it.”
She looked at him as if he were a madman. Perhaps he was, yet for some unfathomable reason, he wanted to help this beast.

This guy has one big, tender heart. I love that!
Really intriguing, Kate. Not the sort of behavior one expects from a big Norseman named Grim!
(BTW get in touch with your media kit so I can feature this one on my blog, too!)
Interesting. Like the idea of saving the young wolf. Is he crazy, perhaps
