Excerpt:
“That’s Paul. He’s with the island security team,” I explain as we disembark.
Seeing Ivy, Paul looks relieved. “Ivy! Shoot, girl, a lot of people have been worried about you. There’s been a search team out for a couple of days.”
Ivy furrows her brow. “Why? I left a note saying I was leaving. What’s going on, Paul? Why isn’t anyone in the water?”
That’s ten, but here’s a bit more, if you’d like to read on:
“There’s been a lot of trouble since you went away.”
“What kind of trouble?”
By the expression on Paul’s face, something serious is going on. I’ve never even met the guy, but I can see he’s worried.
“You better talk to your mom.”
Ivy’s face pales. Instinctively, I rest a hand on her shoulder. “Are you okay?”
“I don’t know. Paul, what’s going on?”
“Just go home, Ivy. Your mom and dad are worried about you. So is Harris.”
Harris. The guys she’s supposed to marry.
Without another word, Ivy takes off running.

Well, this sounds ominous. I hope everything is alright at home. I want to know why no one is in the water! Tweeted.
Don’t go in the water. Yikes. Lot’s of questions here.
Okay, first of all, I already know she can’t marry Harris. “The guy she’s supposed to marry.” No. I forbid it. LOL. Second, it sounds especially ominous that they were worried even though she had left a note.
you got me curious, too! Great snippet.
