Winding her arms around him, Grace pressed closer, and he responded by holding her even tighter. Grace had kissed other men, but none had ever made her feel like this. None had made her legs weak and her heart ache with longing.
She should run from Maxwell Barnes, not because of his crazy brother or his enthusiasm for brawling, but because he had somehow managed to touch her heart. That made him more dangerous than any enemy she had ever faced.
When their mouths finally parted, they were both a bit breathless.
“What shall I tell my family about us?” he asked. “That I’m courting you?”
She stared at him in wonder. “You would, wouldn’t you?”
“I said I want you, Grace. Where we go from here is your decision.”
