This week’s topic in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge at Long and Short Reviews is Book Quotes that Make Me Think.
The first one that comes to mind is one of my favorite quotes from Gaston Leroux’s the Phantom of the Opera–
“It was his skeleton. I did not recognize it by the ugliness of his head, for all men are ugly when they have been dead as long as that–“
The next one is from Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See–
“You loved her as a man would, valuing her only for following men’s rules.”
And this quote from the Creature in Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein–
“There was none among the myriads of men that existed who would pity or assist me; and I should feel kindness towards my enemies?”
What are book quotes that make you think?

Great quotes. I love Frankenstein. It’s one of my favorite books.
Oooooh what fascinating quotes! The first two left me wondering what was happening in the stories when those quotes came into it! I’ve never read Frankenstein, but I keep meaning to. I feel like it probably has a lot of truth about human nature mixed in with the story – your quote proves it! Thanks for sharing and stopping by earlier!
Oh, nice Frankenstein quote! It’s been way too long since I’ve read that.
