Excerpt:
Over an hour later after an intense practice session, Daniel and I leave the dojo. Side by side, we walk through the moonlit grass on our way back to the house. Wiping my sweaty face with my hand, I release a deep breath. He looks little worse for wear, but he’s a vampire. Still, I’m glad to see he’s sweating, too, and by his contemplative look, he’s got something to say.
Or should I say something more to say. He had a lot of tips for me during our practice, but I’m accustomed to honest criticism, and he’s not nearly as picky as Lucas.
“I enjoyed that session,” he says. “You’re more advanced than I expected, but I should have known that Lucas doesn’t brag about just anyone.”
“He bragged about me?” This shocks me. Lucas is kind but stern and doesn’t give compliments easily.
Daniel grins. He’s so handsome when he smiles. He should do it more often. “Oh yes. He thinks a lot of you, Shauna.”
“I’m glad. Thank you for the lesson.”
“It’s my pleasure. I hope we’ll do it often.”
“That’s a little difficult with you living here and me living in New York.”
“Then you’ve decided not to stay for a visit?”
“I—I haven’t thought much more about it.” That’s a lie. I wanted to stay the moment he offered, but I’m still not sure if he’s just being polite. “I enjoyed training with your swords. Someday, when I can afford you, I hope you’ll make one for me.”
“One penny.”
I raise an eyebrow. “Excuse me?”
“Pay me one penny, and I’ll be honored to make you a sword.”
“I couldn’t possibly—”
“Shauna, five years ago—the way I acted when I left was rude. I would like to make a sword for you.”
We stop walking and face each other in the moonlight.

Daniel – Reared by the master swordsmith who taught me his craft, I’ve dedicated my life to forging steel. I never thought about the occult, until a foreign man with unimaginable power stops at my home and forge. He takes me to Japan where I study under an ancient swordsmith. Nothing and no one, especially a woman, can tear me away from my craft, or so I think. While visiting New York City in 1927, I meet Shauna, and everything changes.
Shauna – Working the streets with only my abusive pimp Jack to look out for me is no way to live, but I don’t have much choice. When a rich weirdo takes me to a ritzy hotel and offers me a way out, I’m not sure what to do. Then he shows up at Jack’s juice joint with tall, gorgeous Daniel whose mixed messages make my head spin. Can a vampire swordsmith fall in love with a former pro skirt, or is all his heat only in the forge?
Note: Shauna’s Silver Swordsmith is a short vampire romance with a stubborn hero, a resilient heroine, historical settings, some spice, violence, and a HEA.

Ooh, I’ll have to grab a copy of this.
I love warrior women.
Hi,
Shauna is tough. I wonder if she will take Daniel up on the offer and let him make her a sword.
Excellent excerpt.
