Three of the vampire Network’s sexiest, most powerful agents are assigned to guard three unsuspecting human women from a ritual that could bring ultimate evil into the world. The catch is they must keep their vampirism a secret as well as keep their hands and fangs off the women they are sworn to protect.
Hard-driving love explodes when rugged military man Cody Dilorenzo disguises himself as heiress Joanna Winthrop’s chauffeur, hired to see to the lady’s every fantasy.
It’s desire on the dance floor when Luke Keane, master warlock and enthusiast of the arts, poses as a stripper hired by Crystal Cole, a businesswoman who plans the hottest girls-only parties in New York City.
Passion flies along with the punches when Sy Wooden, medical doctor and computer expert with a zest for competitive fighting, goes undercover as a klutzy karate student at Shirley “The Tiger” Johnson’s school.
Danger, love and bloodlust follow these unlikely couples in their quest to keep the world safe while satisfying their deepest passions.
The following excerpt from CRYPTIC TRYSTS is for readers 18 and over.
“Oh, man,” Cody groaned, stretching his muscular arms above his head and gazing at Joanna in the mirrors above the bed. “You are unbelievable for a–”
“For a what?” She raised an eyebrow along with her head. Not only was he the most gorgeous man she’d ever been with but also the strangest. There was no way of knowing what would come out of his mouth next. At first it had crossed her mind not to come on so strong since he had been hit by a truck. As usual, her libido took over and she’d ventured to see exactly how injured he was. If he hadn’t responded with enthusiasm, she would have backed off. Obviously he’d been as ready for lovemaking as she had been.
“For a rich little girl.” He grinned, sliding down the bed and burying his face in her breasts while he tickled her belly.
“Stop it, Cody!” She laughed, trying to push him away. Her stomach had always been too ticklish.
Wrapping his arms around her, he hauled her on top of him. Her breasts flattened against his rock-hard body, smooth in places, hair roughened in others. Gazing into his eyes, she noticed for the first time the odd shape of his pupils. “Are you wearing contact lenses?”
“Why?”
“Your eyes are a bit odd.”
“Odd? Thanks,” he muttered.
“I mean they almost remind me of a reptile.”
He grunted. “This is getting better by the minute, honey. I don’t think I can handle all these compliments.”
“I didn’t mean to insult you.” She stroke his brow and brushed his lips with a kiss. “I think you have beautiful eyes. Sometimes I feel like you’re seeing inside me, picking out all my deepest secrets.”
“That sounds better.” He caressed her shoulders and back with surprising gentleness. For a man of such power and passion, he inspired no fear that he might harm her. “What are your fantasies, Joanna?”
Her breathing quickened with anticipation. “You really want to know?”
His gaze swept the room, fixing on the faux fur-covered cuffs dangling from the wall. “Yeah. I want to know.”
“I love everything-except real pain that is.”
“Don’t blame you. Pain hurts.”
Giggling, she pushed herself off him and walked across the room. “Sometimes I wonder about you, Mr. Dilorenzo, I really do.”
“I kinda like it.”
“That I wonder about you?”
“No. Pain.”
She froze, one hand on the velvet bag atop her dresser, her heart racing. For the first time real fear gripped her. She’d been around rough men before, even slightly crazy ones, but never one who radiated power like Cody.
She stared at his big-boned, muscular body sprawled across her bed.
