Lexi Post
What’s your favorite autumn treat?
Pumpkin pie with Pumpkin ice cream. I like pumpkin J
Do you celebrate Halloween? If you do, what are some of your favorite traditions or activities?
Always! It’s my favorite holiday! I love dressing as someone else. Whether it’s Zena, Anne Bonny, or a Valkyrie, I put a lot into creating my costumes (especially because I can’t sew). And as a kid, I always loved trick or treating because it was the only time of year we were allowed to have regular candy. Of course, my taste in candy has changed significantly. It used to be about Chunky bars and Snickers but now I’m more of a Heath bar or Butterfinger girl.
What’s the sexiest paranormal creature?
An immortal god. I’d like one of those please, bursting with muscles, brains, and honor. Oh yes, and if he could make me immortal too, well, that would be perfect.
If the hero or heroine in your latest novel was thrust into a classic horror story, which one would it be and why?
That’s far too easy since my erotic romances are inspired by classic literature J My hero, Synn is actually from Edgar Allan Poe’s story “The Masque of the Red Death.” In Poe’s story, Synn is called Death. In my take off of that, Synn is trapped in a haunted abbey where he meets the new owner Rena. There are 7 Pleasure Rooms that Synn must take Rena through to complete the masque. As it turns out, the third is the Library. Actually, it is a library by day, but at night it turns into the Threesome Room. So, no real horror there, though there are ghosts doing all kinds of naughty things J
Lexi is the author of Masque.

Rena Mills plans to turn an abandoned abbey into a haunted bed-and-breakfast to prove she can be successful without her ex-fiancé. What she finds inside is Synn MacAllistair, the distinguished, self-proclaimed Ghost Keeper. Her dreams soon fill with sexual cravings for him. But are they dreams?
Synn, born in 1828, is determined to free the souls of the resident spirits, blaming himself for bringing the Red Death that killed them. When Rena steps into the old Pleasure Palace, he’s sure he can take her through the after-midnight Pleasure Rooms and stoke her passion to complete the Masque so the souls can cross over. Her innocent fire makes him crave more, but it’s far too late for him.
As Rena begins her erotic journey, her heart becomes more involved with every sensual caress until she discovers by completing the Masque she would lose her ghosts. Synn’s betrayal wars with her compassion for her ghostly friends. Torn, she must make a choice between her financial security and freeing seventy-three trapped souls. Either way, she could lose her Synn.

About Lexi:
Lexi Post spent years in higher education taking and teaching courses about classical literature. From the early American short story, Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Masque of the Red Death” to the 20th century American epic The Grapes of Wrath, from War and Peace to the Bhagavad Gita, she’s read, studied, and taught great classic literature.
But Lexi’s first love is romance novels. In an effort to marry her two first loves, she started writing erotic romance inspired by the classics and found she loved it. Lexi feels there is no end to the romantic inspiration she can find in great classic literature.
Lexi lives with her husband and cat in the Caribbean where gorgeous sunsets, warm weather, and driving on the left are the norm. She makes her own ice cream every weekend, loves bright colors, and is never seen without a hat (unless she is going incognito).

That mask is beautiful. I love it. Thanks for posting about your books. I enjoyed reading it.
I have read Lexi’s Masque and it is an excellent, sexy read with lots of twists and turns. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys erotica and mystery combined!
Lexi- I KNEW I liked you. Halloween is my favorite holiday, too. A chance to be someone else for a day is always fun. I’m also a Heath bar/Butterfinger girl.
Your literary inspirations for your stories is such a clever idea. I love it!
Sounds like a good story, nice cover. Thanks for a chance to win.
Have a great Halloween….
Yum for pumpkin everything! Read the Masque excerpt and loved it! The mask is beautiful as well, thanks for the giveaway.
Hiya Lexi!
One of my favorite authors and love, love, these books! Can’t wait for The Passion of Sleepy Hollow!
Have a spooktacular halloween and post lots of pictures of your costume this year! 🙂
Sounds like an intriguing concept for a steamy romance. Yum! I’m on a ghost kick right now anyway, as I just finished writing a ghost story. What made you choose the paranormal element, Lexi? And do you believe in ghosts? 😉
This is next on my reading list. I loved Passion’s Poison so I am excited to read another book by Lexi. Happy Halloween love the interview
I have never tried pumpkin ice cream , love pumpkin pie. Enjoyed reading the excerpt, story sounds really exciting. What a pretty mask.
Beautiful mask! Pumpkin ice cream… I have seen it around but never tried it… I have tried pumpkin pie chocolates… it tasted so good.
Wow…I’d wear that mask to work it’s so gorgeous! Imagine my Staff Sergeant walking in to see me wearing it one morning, bwah!
Lexi, I have the BEST pumpkin pie recipe. I do down pumpkin every year and freeze it too.
What a beautiful mask! Masque sounds like a great book, I have added it to my TBR. I am not crazy about pumpkin, but I did recently find a pumpkin and cheesecake roll that is awesome. Thanks for sharing your Halloween interview and your book. Happy Halloween. evamillien at gmail dot ocm
Oh, wow. I have had a busy morning and now I see all these wonderful comments! JeanMP I actually make my own ice cream, so I made it pumpkin. I love the control of making my own flavors. Finding the right recipe however takes some trial and error. Luckily, the errors are edible 🙂
Hi Cheri, I chose the paranormal element because Poe left me with an Abbey full of dead people and Death. It kind of forced my hand with MASQUE. Leave it to Poe. Then with PASSION’S POISON Hawthorne created a a poisonous heroine, so I had to work with that. My next book is PASSION OF SLEEPY HOLLOW, so once again the classic literature has directed me to the paranormal. I think it’s become ingrained now :-} As for ghosts, I spent a lot of my childhood in a mildly haunted farmhouse, so I like ghosts. I also believe in life on other planets. What can I say, I am the eternal optimist 🙂
Colleen, pumpkin pie chocolates? Hmm, that does sound interesting. Bet they would go great on pumpkin pie ice cream 😉
Haven and Ashley, you two are too kind. I’m so glad you enjoy my stories. BTW my deadline for getting PASSION OF SLEEPY HOLLOW to my editor is . . . . . Halloween! I just couldn’t resist 🙂
DebraG, Eva, Mary, I love this mask. In fact, when I bought it, I bought one for myself and wore it at my release party for MASQUE 🙂 Good luck!
Happy Halloween to you too, Jackie. Your review of PASSION’S POISON was wonderful! Thank you so much for reviewing my story 🙂
Suzy R, actually the cover just won a second place award in paranormal romance! Ellora’s Cave has some very good cover artists 🙂
Thank you Jillian. I just wanted to write about something I knew a lot about and the only thing I could think of was all the literature I read as an English major. It worked!
Cristal, what is “down” Pumpkin?
Haven’t heard of pumpkin ice cream before; sounds interesting

Bring on the pie and ice cream, please! DD was just asking about pumpkin pie… 😉 Thanks for the tasty, calorie-free treat this holiday!
