Good morning! Please welcome guest author Chris Redding. Though I will be away for most of the day, please feel free to leave comments for Chris and I will post them as soon as I return. Thank you!

What is one of your favorite things about writing?
I love the first inklings of a new story idea. I liken it to falling in love. You’re sure this will be the next bestseller and no one else has thought up such a great idea.
When you’re brainstorming for a new story, what usually comes first for you, the plot or the characters?
Plot. I am definitely a plot driven writer. Characters don’t come so easily to me. I have to work hard to flesh them out.
Are you a plotter or a pantser?
I used to be a pantser, but because of age and business I can no longer keep the story in my head all the time. So I plot and then I can just sit down and write without reviewing where I am.
What are you working on now?
Right now I am working on a series about nerds. Love them. Married one. Birthed two of them and am probably one in my own way. (Okay, yes I am.) It’ll be first in a series, but not with the same characters, but I’m sure some characters will show up in other books. I like doing that anyway.
What three words would the hero of your story use to describe his love interest?
Hot, trouble, sexy
What three words would the heroine of your story use to describe her love interest?
Awkward, sexy, manly
Do you prefer writing your heroes, your heroines or do you like writing both equally?
I actually write heroes better. I find it easier to flesh out the male. I have been surrounded by more men than women most of my life so I think I just gravitate toward the hero.
What are your favorite genres to read and write?
I wrote mostly romantic suspense which is my favorite genre to read. I also have dabbled in romantic comedy which I do enjoy reading.

When you’re not writing, what do you like to do?
I run. I started about a year and a half ago and it keeps my energy up. Not hardcore so I probably won’t run a marathon, but I enjoy it.
How long have you been writing?
Since I was ten, but for publication for about 16 years.
Do you have any pets?
I have a dog and two rabbits.
