Good morning! Please welcome guest author Bambi Lynn. Though I will be away for most of the day, please feel free to leave comments for Bambi and I will post them as soon as I return. Thank you!
~Kate
What is one of your favorite things about writing?
I have a very stressful day job. I love coming home and heading out to the writing studio my husband built for me. It’s like a medieval play house, but adult size. When I sit down to write, I am immediately in the zone. It’s such a release. I look forward to it all day.
Are you a plotter or a pantser?
Definitely a plotter. I know everything that will happen in every section of the book. Surprises come along all the time, but I need to know where I’m going.
When you’re brainstorming for a new story, what usually comes first for you, the plot or the characters?
I do a little of both at the same time. I have an idea of one or both of my main characters and ideas for the plot. I plug those thoughts into a storyboard that fits on a single page and go from there. When I have a good grasp of the plot, I start writing. Characters continue to develop right up to the end.
When you’re writing, who is more in control, you or your characters?
Definitely, me. But I take their ideas into consideration. <grin>
Can you write sex scenes at any time or do you have to be “in the mood?”
I don’t have to be “in the mood” before I start, but I usually am by the time I’m finished.
What do you like best about writing? Writing historical romance allows me to travel through time.
I’m convinced I lived in the Middle Ages in a different life…lol. As a writer, I get to travel back there, even without a time machine.
What is the most difficult thing about writing?
The first draft.
What do you like about writing series books?
As the series goes along, I find a lot of the leg work fading. I get more attached to the characters.
Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
I get most of my ideas while researching other topics.
Would you tell us about your latest release?
My latest release, MAREK, is the first in the KNIGHTS OF STONEBRIDGE series. There will be five books, and I’m looking forward to spending time with these five brothers.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on book two in the KNIGHTS OF STONEBRIDE series, THANE.
Would you tell us about yourself?
I grew up on a farm in Georgia, then moved to Belgium where I lived for fifteen years.
What are your favorite genres to read?
I love to read so many different types of books. Besides romance, I enjoy international thrillers, especially those with a historical twist. Some of my favorite authors are Karen Marie Moning, Trina M. Lee, Steve Berry, Chris Kuzneski and my newest discovery, Bernard Cornwell.

When you’re not writing, what do you like to do?
I teach at an inner city high school, so that keeps me pretty busy. If any free time falls in my lap, I ride horses and practice archery.
How long have you been writing?
I have been writing since 1987, yes way back when a floppy disk was the size of an LP record.
Where would you go on your dream vacation?
I travel to the Caribbean at least twice a year. While I lived in Belgium, traveled extensively in Europe, but never made it to Scotland or the Perigord region of France. I would love to visit those two places.
Name three fictional characters (not your own) that you find hot. They can be from books, movies, or TV.
Alcide from TRUE BLOOD is the inspiration for my current hero, THANE, so definitely him. I’m loving Jon Snow from GAME OF THRONES. And finally, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Gannicus from the Spartacus series.
You can purchase my works anywhere electronic books are sold. MAREK is also available in paperback at Amazon.com.
