Thirteen reasons I love the month of October by Nancy Corrigan
1. Cooler weather offers the perfect opportunity to snuggle on the couch.
2. A trip to the pumpkin patch with the kids.
3. Sweatshirts and jeans become the standard weekend attire.
4. Hot apple cider.
5. Decorating the yard with pumpkins, skeletons, and tombstones.
6. The yearly trip to the corn maze where we walk aimlessly looking for the way out and wondering why we come every fall.
7. Trick or treating! No, I’m not too old to dress up. I go with the kids 😉
8. Friday night football games.
9. Halloween parties!
10. Walks in the forest to enjoy the fall colors.
11. Trips to the farmer’s market for fresh apples.
12. Sunday afternoon naps on the couch, just because.
13. Pumpkin-flavored everything!!!
The hero or heroine in your latest book is asked to decorate for a Halloween party. What does he/she use?
Rune, the hero of Mist Unveiled, is a child of the Mist. He controls all forms of water. Filling a room with fog would amuse him and come as easily as a flick of the wrist.
Your hero or heroine occupies a room in a haunted mansion. Which room is it and why?
Cat, the heroine of Mist Unveiled, would gravitate toward the library. She’s drawn to all forms of knowledge. Everything can be figured out with a little research, everything but love that is.
What is your favorite Halloween or autumn decoration?
Skeletons! I love the cheesy plastic ones. We have an orange one lovingly named Bob. We dress him up so he makes an appearance on all the holidays. He wears a Santa hat for Christmas, carries a Cupid’s bow for Valentine’s day, etc. But for Halloween, he gets to be himself 🙂

Mist Unveiled
Nancy Corrigan
Elemental Desire, Book 1
Cat has one love in her life–science. Facts rule her, not passion. At least it doesn’t until an unknown deadly virus claims her sister’s life. Cat’s quest for answers takes her to Greenland and drops her into the arms of the one man who sways her devotion from logic to passion. Rune stirs her lusts, ignites her desires and fuels her carnal cravings, but he isn’t simply a lover, nor is he human. He’s a weapon, one that has the potential to save or destroy her.
Rune, a child of the mist, awakens into a world hovering on the verge of destruction. Rising temperatures have released his enemies from their frozen prison without his knowledge. He searches for them but finds Cat, a human with the power to save him and the world. He hungers for her–blood, body and soul. Every moment of shared passion convinces him of the truth–she’s his greatest treasure, one he’ll die to keep.
Excerpt:
Unable to resist the scent of heaven that had lured him to her in the first place, he buried his face into the fall of her raven hair. She smelled of something fruity and exotic. He couldn’t place the scent, but it compounded his craving. He wanted to devour her.
Deep breaths filled his lungs with her signature fragrance. Dizziness gripped him. He tightened his hold on her to stop himself from swaying and unleashed his will to influence her. With the few drops of his blood in her body, he wasn’t sure it’d actually work, but he had to try something.
“Calm down. I’m not going to hurt you.”
She hiccupped. The fingers scratching at his back stilled. He waited a moment for her to succumb completely to his order. Her tense body and rapid heartbeat didn’t lessen as they should have. More expletives whipped through him at the implications of her resistance. He took another breath to calm his racing pulse.
“You’re going to bring the authorities here. They’ll harass me, maybe toss me in jail, all for kissing you. You don’t want that.”
“Don’t I?”
Shit. He dropped his forehead to her shoulder and reined in his power. It was pointless to expend the energy if she was resistant to it. “No, you don’t. You can’t blame me for losing control when faced with temptation. You’re beautiful, Cat.”
She turned her head. He eased back and met her probing eyes. “How do you know my name?”

I look forward to fall, with the cooler temps. I can hardly wait for the apples to come and I always enjoy all the pumpkin flavored items that are around at this time of the year. Enjoyed reading your excerpt!
What a fabulous cover! Mist Unveiled sounds like a great book, too.
Hi, Jean and Barbara! Thanks for stopping by! I love fall, too, Jean. Pumpkin ice cream!
I can certainly agree with the snuggling! I like to sleep with the window open and a blanket on the bed. Now that’s “good sleeping weather.” LOL
