Author Name: Beth Caudill
The hero or heroine in your latest book is asked to decorate for a Halloween party. What does he/she use?
While Caitlyn, the heroine of Assassin’s Soul, isn’t into decorating, her soulmate Rhune will make their home festive. Ellemarlene is a town of magic so there isn’t a holiday like Halloween but they do celebrate the end of harvest. Rhune will bring in bundles of hay and medium sized pumpkins to decorate around the fireplace. Small, colorful pumpkins and other fall vegetables will be placed on the mantle and shelves.
When it’s cold and the nights become longer, he’ll add a few candle luminaries to the mantle. It’s an added bonus that the dancing shadows add an ominous touch to the swords and daggers hanging on the walls.
Your hero or heroine occupies a room in a haunted mansion. Which room is it and why?
Caitlyn feels right at home in the Conservatory. Filled with plants, it’s spacious enough for her not to feel crowded by other people and the leaves provide perfect coverage for hiding if she needs to exercise her skills as an assassin.
What is your favorite Halloween or autumn decoration?
Halloween is my favorite time to decorate. I’ve collected a lot of Jim Shore figures of witches, ghosts, the Headless Horseman, and the Grim Reaper. My favorite is a large Grim Reaper figurine which sits in the center of my mantle.
