Good morning! Please welcome guest author Leigh Ellwood. Though I will be away for most of the day, please feel free to leave comments for Leigh and I will post them as soon as I return. Thank you!

When you’re brainstorming for a new story, what usually comes first for you, the plot or the characters?
For me, the story ideas tend to come first. I might see something on the news, or hear a song, and an idea grows from there. Often too many story ideas happen at once, and I have to decide which one gets written. LOL
What is the most difficult thing about writing?
For me, it’s time. I work a day job, and have a little one at home. After six, everybody is home and it’s all noise and confusion. I don’t have a writing cave, and our home is small so there’s no escape hatch. I used to adapt to surroundings to write but I find it’s a challenge to concentrate as I get older.
Do you find it harder to write novels or short stories?
Both are fun to write, but short stories are more challenging. You have fewer words in which to create a plausible story and developed characters. With a novel you have more room and more freedom. Words counts present a challenge that I enjoy.
Would you tell us about your latest release?
A CLASS ACT is my second release with Decadent Publishing. Like the first (A DIFFERENT CLASS) it is a 1Night Stand story and set in the same universe. It’s about a rising actor who wants to fulfill the fantasy of being with the teacher he crushed on for years.
What are you working on now?
I have enjoyed working with Decadent and have it in mind to write a third story in this universe. It may be a 1NS, but I am leaning toward something longer, perhaps a novel. I write M/M often, but have only written on novel length work in the genre. I would like to add to that.
While I think about it, there are a few anthology calls I hope to submit to before their deadlines. All M/M stories.
What are your favorite genres to read and write?
I love historical fiction, especially Tudor England and early 20th century stories. I also like small-town contemporaries and romantic comedy – like Brenda Novak, Kristan Higgins, Donna Kauffman, etc.
Where can we visit you online?
I am always on Twitter @LeighEllwood. You’re welcome to come say hi!
How long have you been writing?
All my life! LOL Seriously, my first book as Leigh Ellwood was published ten years ago this month. I never thought I’d see the day. 🙂
What book are you currently reading?
I’m enjoying A BOLLYWOOD AFFAIR right now. Everybody seems to be raving about it, and I can see why.
