The first book in my new Crescent City series, “Breathe Me In,” will be released on Friday by Changeling Press. This series takes place in New Orleans, one of my favorite vacation destinations. The richness of the culture is evident in the delicious creole food. And no trip is complete without a stop at Café du Monde for a café au lait and a beignet or two. Imagining how sexy a powdered sugar trail could be, helped inspire a love scene between energy vampire, John, and his love interest, Nika.
What is an energy vampire anyway? Instead of blood, they require life energy to survive. John describes the species as being similar to a succubus, only the energy transfer doesn’t have to happen through sex (but it can) and they are made, not born, supernatural creatures.
Don’t worry, there are blood vampires in Crescent City too and pirates. A free short story, “Paying the Pirate,” in the world of Crescent City is available as a Changeling Encounter in several ebook formats.

Most bars on Bourbon Street serve Abita Amber and other beers from Abita like their dark brown ale, Turbo Dog, and their raspberry lager. Purple Haze.
