Excerpt 2:
It was after midnight when the front door opened and Ian stepped in. His gaze flickered toward the parlor and he smiled at Maxim.
“Hello,” Maxim said, closing his laptop and standing to greet Ian.
“Hi,” Ian said softly and cupped the back of Maxim’s head before brushing his mouth with a kiss.
“How was it tonight?”
“Interesting. My trousers got caught on the edge of a table and tore during one of my transformation scenes.”
Max chuckled. “Sorry. I suppose that’s not actually funny to you.”
“It wasn’t so bad. It’s a crazy scene anyway, so the audience thought it was part of the play. It could have been worse.”
“Were you wearing underwear?” Maxim teased.
