I’m so happy to be here today! Thanks to Kate for hosting me! I’m Mary E. Thompson and I write spicy contemporary romance. My latest book, Puffy & Precious, released yesterday! Before I share a little about that with you, I want to tell you a little about me and my three favorite things about being a writer.
- Being my own boss! There’s really nothing better than knowing I make the rules. I decide what I write, when I release new books, and don’t have to ask permission to take a day off! I also have two young kids, and I love being able to go on their field trips, help their teachers, and be there for sick days and snow days and school breaks. I know there will come a day they don’t want mom around, but for now, we’re all enjoying it!
- I make people fall in love every day. How many people get to say that? My characters fall in love with each other, my readers fall in love with the characters. It’s a wonderful process that makes me smile every day.
- Romance fans are amazing! I know Kate would agree with me on this one! Fans of romance novels are simply awesome people! I get emails and messages almost every day from fans that read one of my books that they loved or that touched them or gave them hope. It makes me smile and feel so great to know someone else loved what I wrote as much as I loved to write it!
Now that you know a little about me, tell me a little about you! What’s your favorite thing about books?
While you’re thinking about that, check out my newest novel, Puffy & Precious. Abby is recently divorced and so not ready to date again. The only problem with that is Graham tempts her in ways no other man ever has. They go back and forth a lot since both are a bit nervous about any sort of relationship, but those fights make for some serious fun afterward! Like this…
“There’s only one thing I can’t figure out.”
“What’s that?” I asked, finally realizing the green I saw was his shirt. My face was pressed to his chest. I snuggled in deeper and nearly moaned when he groaned and tightened his grip on me.
He cleared his throat, but his voice was still raspy when he said, “I’m trying to understand why you married that worthless piece of garbage, and stayed with him for years, and I couldn’t even make it through dinner and dessert with you. Two kisses and you were done with me.”
I struggled against him until he finally released me. I glanced around my empty cafe, happy to see it vacant for once. Graham was sitting in one of my purple chairs, cradling me. I turned in his lap until I was straddling him. His hands automatically went to my hips and his eyes slipped closed. He pulsed against my core, making me wish we could strip our clothes and I could have him right then and there.
Without responding to his comment about Brett, I covered his mouth with mine. I dove in, my tongue splitting his lips and plunging deep into his mouth until it met his. My hands clutched at his shoulders, tugging him closer as he pulled me against him. The rasp of his jeans clad cock against my khakis nearly made me scream right then and there.
Puffy & Precious is available now in digital and print on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Kobo, and CreateSpace! About Mary
Mary E. Thompson grew up loving to read, like a good little girl. Many nights she would fall asleep with the flashlight still turned on as she hid under the covers trying to finish the last few pages of a book. As an adult, the light from her ereader means she doesn’t need a flashlight, but she still stays up way too late to finish a book.
When Mary’s not reading she’s playing with her two kids or living out her own romance novel with her hubby. She has a weakness for chocolate, especially when it’s paired with peanut butter, and has been known to have a bad day just because there’s no chocolate in the house.
Mary grew up in Buffalo, NY and swears she’s the only local to never ski or snowboard. Soccer was always her sport, with a couple adventures in white water rafting and skydiving to keep things interesting. Mary moved to South Carolina for college but missed Buffalo every day. Yeah, she thinks she’s crazy, too. She somehow convinced her South Carolina born and bred hubby to return to Buffalo to raise their kids and live out their lives. He’s still not sure what he was thinking.
