What are your favorite genres to read and write?
I enjoy most humorous and sexy romances — from romantic comedies to funny historicals to lite paranormals. I gravitate more toward comic contemporaries, which I also write. My first novel was a funny romantic suspense.
To you what type of hero/heroine is the hottest?
I find a sense of humor to be very sexy. I think Alpha males who fall hard for the heroine and Beta heroes who rise to the occasion (no pun intended) are hot. 😉 I like heroines I can respect — empowered women who don’t need to drink to get up the courage to be intimate with the hero.
Share one of the sexiest or romantic lines from one of your books.
That’s a tough question, and I hope I can give you three sentences, instead of one. 😉 In my first novel, At Her Command, the hero is a police detective and the heroine is a DEA agent. When he proposes to her at the end, he’s not exactly a smooth operator, but he’s romantic. He has her at “holster”:
“It’s called an eternity ring,” he explained. “Not your usual engagement ring, but I thought…well, I want to spend eternity with you. Besides, since it’s smooth all the way around, it won’t catch on your holster.”
Speaking as one of your characters, describe in a sentence or two what makes your partner irresistible.
Using At Her Command again, the DEA heroine would say, “My big, tough Alpha lover is funny, sexy, and kind to animals — even my goofy drug-sniffing canine partner, a tiny Chinese crested hairless dog. And he’s loyal, determined to avenge his murdered best friend, even if it means going undercover as a submissive at a sex club. He may not be great at pretty words, but he’s the most romantic man I’ve ever known.”
Please tell us about your latest release?
Heating Up the Holidays is a funny, sexy Christmas novella that’s is coming out in December from Liquid Silver Books. Here’s the blurb:
Nicky Paxton is up to her pointed elf ears in work—filling in for a sick Santa’s helper, corralling kittens in a mechanical winter wonderland and running her family’s department store chain. With only 14 shopping days until Christmas, the last thing she needs is the return of her high school heart-breaker.
Lawyer and single dad Chris Spencer leaves the Los Angeles rat race to raise his five-year-old daughter, Holly, in his sleepy Virginia hometown. His first goal is to make sure Holly has a Christmas to remember. His carefully laid plans don’t include a second chance with his first love.
When Holly asks the store Santa for a “fairy pony puppy”, Chris enlists Nicky’s help to track down the elusive item. Despite Nicky’s resolve not to re-gift her heart to Chris, their sexual attraction could power the town’s holiday lights. With the help of mistletoe, a hairless dog and a lonely child, Chris and Nicky just might get their Christmas desires.
