Is there anything about you only your family understands? That’s the question this week on the MFRW 52-Week Blog Challenge.
At first I thought definitely, there are many things about me only my family understands. The more I considered it, the more I wondered if my family actually understands certain things about me, or if they simply accept those things.
I have peculiar outlooks about many things, so my family thinks I’m weird, but they’re okay with that. Probably one thing my family understands that most others don’t is that I’m more a loner than a people person, but it’s not because I’m shy. For some reason most people think loners are shy, but that’s not necessarily true. Shyness indicates timidity, but that’s not me. If I don’t like something or disagree with someone, I have no problem letting them know about it. If I want to do something, I’ll do it, but I’m perfectly fine doing it alone. More often than not people who have attempted to take advantage of my perceived “shyness” have experienced a well deserved awakening.
What is it about you that only those closest to you understand? Are you sometimes misunderstood?
